About the Rod Brooks item

A little 'inside baseball' here:

Many of you share my disdain for 'that guy' and Brooks. At least Brooks has some relevance. Underline some.

Many of you asked why I'd even bothered to post the story about Brooks losing the sideline-radio 49ers gig. Because it involved the 49ers and this being a big market, that's why.

I'm not a big fan of Rod Brooks. The irony here is that I thought he was far more effective doing the Niners' gig than he is being co-host with Giggles. (Rudy needs all the help he can and Brooks is bound to cackle at his every lame "joke").

I think a reader summed it up best when he said he hardly even noticed that there existed a sideline reporter on the 49ers radio station.

'Nuff said.

  1. Rod Brooks is a bitter @sshole. And fat fuck Fitz is a disgrace.

I haven't listened to KNBR from 12-3 in years. Why those 2 are still employed is a wonder. And will the Warriors please pull the plug on fat fuck Fitz already.

I'd rather they cancel the season than have that douchbag announce another game.

  2. Brooks must be paid by the Warriors like Fitz....only cheaper. And thats still enough to own Rod.
btw Sports Radio line of the day: Urban to John Lund "I would never say a mean thing to you-two faced" ..lol. One for Urban.

  3. Actually, Rod Brooks (along with Ray Woodson) is the only on-air person I can stomach. I don't think he is as bad as some people are making him out to be. And that 49er sideline reporter gig doesn't sound like it is all that.

  5. I like Ray Woodson, Rod Brooks and the now banished and exiled Bruce MacGowan. These guys have some semblance of speaking intelligible English and less brown nosing to management for a living.

Can't stand Michael Urban since I always get his name confused with Michael Irvin of the Dallas Cowboys. I turn off 95.7 when I hear him. He was not objective. He constantly brought up his association with Barry Zito and hosted his lame show. He was the constant apologist with Marty Laurie that the money paid to the Zito was water under the bridge (whats done is done, etc.). Couldn't stand him and Lincecum's father saying Tim not doing soft-toss was contributing to Tim's bad pitching record before the world series. He and KNBR constantly supported the decisions of Sabean and Bochy. Hey Sabean and Giant Management want to say we won the world series when 50 million of the 120 million ball player salaries consisted of bad, unproductive or injured players. The Giants won in spite of stupid bone-headed mistakes.

WTF? Whose fault is that that YOU can't differentiate between Mychael Urban a 6'7 Redwood City white guy and Michael Irvin a black football player who played for Dallas.

Your Lincecum comments are wrong also: It was LONG TOSS not soft toss.

Urban is a good baseball guy. His personality needs work but dont shoot the messenger because you cant keep Urban and Irvin separate.

    That is pathetic

  7. Like Mychael Urban discovered long toss so Lincecum could solve his problems. I guess Righetti and Gardner were clueless without Urban or laughing so much they were rolling on the floor.

Too bad Urban couldn't use his pitching knowledge to help his friend and meal ticket Barry Zito or Barry Zits to his friends.

  8. Not a Fan of Brooks at all, Brooks and fitz together are horrific. When fitz does it solo, he's much better off. Still an, A hole but more entertaining. Fitz also climbed Everest according to Wikipedia. Outrageous effort.
