New 'Blitz' on Comcast is the....? (Rhymes with Pitts)

The "Blitz?

OK, how about it's the Shitz.

I mean, I saw about twenty minutes and headed out to dinner.

Basically, trying to rip off ESPN's 'Round the Horn' and failing miserably. Comcast knows the show is a huge dumper and finally decided to heed my word and try something new. Faster? Maybe. Quality? Meh.

If you want to steal, at least steal good.

A simple idea:

Shorten the show thirty minutes and try "Sports Reporters." Get some people that will SAY SOMETHING and quit trying to be something you aren't. Right now, you don't have a phucking clue.

And Killion is an instant tune-out, as is newly-ordained Giants' ass-kisser Damon Bruce.

  1. I watched just to see Kawakami whose opinions I admire. Hell you couldn't even hear him. Killion and Papa constantly talked over him, both practically shouting over his normal conversational voice. This is a terrible format, as you pointed out similar to Around the Horn, perfect for short dumb comments on every sports hot button. Not the place for anything thoughtful. Hope Kawakami stays away, unless he needs the money (nothing wrong with that).

  2. Damon Bruce-he's taken from the Radnich instruction book on how to make wealthy friends in important places, like you said-ass kiss.
I have never seen a "personality" cave with tail between his legs and do a 180 like Bruce. To hear a man go from ripping certain people to saying how they are now close friends now..wow..what a phony, Bruce reveals himself to be.
LOL!..just as I was typing, some low producer on KNBR said Bruce pulled rank to take Sharks tickets he( the low guy) had been promised! PERFECT..now Bruce is also a co worker back stabber!..it all fits.

  3. I think a "Sports Reporters" theme would be great. The only thing worthwhile about the Blitz was how unintentionally funny it was - I loved how they kept moving the the people around the screen like it was some sort of carnival race. What a disaster...

  4. I can't believe how long 'Around The Horn' has lasted on ESPN, considering how panned it was at the beginning of its existence. It still gets panned every now and then, but obviously not enough as it continues to air successfully. Guess people are gullible that way.

  5. Sorry, I liked the format. Although the switching was out of practice and looked funny. I even for the most part like the show. I am not sure I want to see it every day, however. I also enjoy actually seeing the local sportscasters. Some people write better than they speak; others speak as well as they write. I suppose I am really waiting for a big fight to occur between say Kawakami and Ostler. Who knows some day maybe Papa will get Al on the show.
