There is major heat going on at NBC Bay Area in the morning, according to one of my spies....
The big story is the new Exec-Producer,a prior KTVU heavy hitter named Scott Warren. He was hired about a month ago. He left KTVU a couple of years ago to move to LA for family reasons (so is the word.)
Warren spent a couple of years at KNBC as AM Exec.Producer. Seems like they've, (KNTV,) brought in a few others from LA .Warren is considered a much stronger EP than KTVU's and is on par with KGO's.
Whatever the case, I'm told the morning situation is in dire straits and that they're not happy. "The shit's hit the fan," said the tipster.
LMAO like who cares? I don't watch KNTV anyway and they cant cover Central and east Contra Costa in any decent way! But then again KTVU cant either!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why KNTV is in constant flux and change..some is good,but they are replacing people for no reason-who ever complained about that Cannon guy? -poof- he's gone. Jessica? SHE's a ratings problem? I dont beleive that.

The best thing KNTV could do is to go Spanish 24/7!

ReplyDeleteTook KTLA to #1, the hell he did. KTLA not only invented the modern TV local morning news show, they have consistently been number one for over 20 years. It's the talent, the most recognizable in LA that makes the show the leader. Most have been there for 15-20 years. No station in the Bay Area has the horses to put on a show like that. This so called heavy weight sounds like a powder puff.

ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of KRON,when the hell is Pam Moore going to do something about that big mole under her right eye? Most times she hides it under a lock of hair..but the rest of the time you see it and do a Mike Meyers-"holy moly,what a mole",and stare at it.

KTLA's morning "show" is hardly deserving to be described as news. This show has more anchor chit-chat, celebrity guests and junior high sex jokes than most shows on cable. Nothing wrong with that, LA audiences clearly love that type of thing. Probably wouldn't fly here in the Bay Area. But let's be real, it's not news.
ReplyDeleteWhen is NBC going to do the right thing? Buy KRON make it the NBC O and O and run NBC programming and hire a first rate news staff. KNTV becomes an independent or a My Network TV station. DOH!! That's too easy!

ReplyDeleteKNTV is not a disaster... right. KNTV isn't desprate to improve ratings (DD)... right. (where's Brent btw?) Warren isn't a fixer/heavy hitter... right. KTVU's EP isn't weak... right. KGO's EP isn't one of the bays best... right.

I liked Marla Tellez, when she was on Eye on the Bay with Liam Mayclem. Now she is anchoring sometimes at NBC BayArea [morning, evening and night even]and looking HOT and beautiful too. Sorry, ABQ New Mexico, we got her now.
