Bob Agnew, the onetime heavyweight PD at Cumulus' local KNBR, has been fired in the same gig from Las Vegas CBS news-talk outlet, KXNT.
Agnew's dismissal was blamed on "terrible ratings", from a source familiar with the radio biz.
Agnew had an earlier stint at ClearChannel--he spent the bulk of his radio career at KCBS as a reporter, and almost twenty years at KNBR, where he was fired in the infamous Felipe Alou-Larry Krueger quagmire in 2005.
Agnew had been at KXNT since May of 2010.

ReplyDeleteNo suprise that a former KNBR "talent" found he isn't when let go. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if other KNBR longtimers found the same thing. Ralph could fall back on delivering Ameche's pizza.Radnich in some low rent honky tonk Vegas bar dodging bottles when he does his hip hop jokes.

ReplyDeletewas owned by Susquehanna Broadcasting...Just before the sale to Cumulus...His buddy Tony Salvadore did the honors after the parasitologist removed Bob's lips from Tony's Ass... I understand Bob was starting the rumor he was gonna be the new PD at 95.7 sports...Maybe Entercom is into hiring bullies from "Career Academy Broadcasting School."

Las Vegas has low talk radio ratings. Reno's number 1 talk station get's great ratings. Vegas talk stations are 20th ranked and below. News never seems to work on Vegas radio either. People are predicting kxnt talker Alan Stock (filed in for Savage on KSFO, was on some Santa Rosa Station?) before coming to Vegas, will be next to go.
