Sinkovitz: Style, Substance, and Grace; Attn--KTVU/KGO-TV

Maybe its because I'm old-school.

Tom Sinkovitz is one helluva newsman. Great anchor too. Has the pipes, the knowledge, the background...hell, I think he'd make for a great addition at one of the local stations, (Sink didn't pay me to say that--matter of fact, I think he'll be slightly pissed that I posted this)

Truth is, Sinkovitz has utter cachet. It didn't work out down in San Jose and NBC Bay Area wanted to go in a different direction and Sink wanted nothing of it. He won't come out and say it because he's a total pro and non-shit disturber.

On the other hand, there's a few stations here that could use a BIG name...a game-changer. Presence comes to mind, not to mention a guy who has journalistic girth, a solid reputation, and damn good political acumen to boot.

That's known in any business as a commodity. Tom Sinkovitz is that guy. And I'm not the only one who believes that--ask around.

  1. NBC11/SF has no clue on what they lost, seems to me all Bay Area Media/TV are being led off a cliff for the ol mighty dollar. Hiring young hip news readers dosent hold much water in a tub with holes. It's become very challening to attach myself to a local news cast, from NBC11/SF to Pix that has a monkey making decisions, I'm stuck with a filler in ABC7 only because they follow wold news tonight. After which I watch reruns, at 11pm I enjoy Dana, Ken and Roberta which my wife says has a great hard bod! So for now and the foreseen future I'll read Rich, and yes he's dropped a bone or two my way :)~~ just kidding.

  2. Who knows why Ken Bastita is invisible? Everything you want in a anchor...Has to be money, senority, and how to get around it by big business.
The Republicans made their move to rape this country during the Bush family years and are still tooth and nail hanging on to turning the clock back..to slavery if they could!

  3. I hate to do this again to you but: OFF TOPIC, Rich have you noticed the huge increase in advertisement breaks on KNBR-almost unlistenable!..it ties in with your post of the big drop in ratings they had,or?
The morning show is solid commercials-with long infomercials by the morning zoo type now added. Radnich is now on the clock,no more of his rambling past breaks complaints..but,if you change channels and forget and comeback- they are right back into more commercials.
    What do you think?

  4. Yeas, Sink is out it must be George W's fault. What kind of absolute dolt, moronic cretin would equate Republicans with Tom leaving NBC Bay Area?
    Get a damn clue!

  6. It's George Washington's fault! He chopped down that cherry tree, which pissed off the environmentalists. The gun lobby was pissed off, because he didn't use a gun. Conservatives were pissed because there were rumors that the axe was imported from England and wasn't "Colony-Made." And liberals were upset because he deported his farmhand back to Mexico and thus ahd to chop it down himself.

We as a nation have been squabbling ever sine.

  7. I'm sure there is a market out there for Sinkovitz. I'm tempted to watch other local stations for news now. My guess is there are 30 year olds making changes in the news structure. They aren't old enough to know what their audience wants.
