He's on the radio and occasionally talks sports.
He admonishes e-mails and phone messages that are "personal", yet he himself lobs personal insults on a daily basis, direct and indirect.
He takes plenty of shots with veiled references to "bloggers" who "can't get a job in radio." Real personal for a guy whose own personal life has a few interesting nuggets to chew on. As Dan Akroyd said in the first Ghostbusters movie, "real gooey stuff."
Imagine that.
You mean the blind item in the Chronicle about 15 years ago about the police telling a well known man to stop cruising Polk and Larkin in his Jag might have been about this individual?
ReplyDeleteRich,
ReplyDeleteYou constant obsession with this 'guy' is tired and has gotten old, there is no bay area media personality you talk about more on this site than him. I totally understand that it is your prerogative to report and give your opinion on what you want but there is other news out there, is their not?
The 'guy' you are referring to is the most powerful sports media man in the market and you know it, is that not true Rich? You really should move on to something better but this goes without saying on occasion you do indeed praise him when you feel it is necessary but more often than not you are negative. I guess being honored by Associated Press multiple times and also receiving other numerous awards for the best sportscast in the Bay Area means nothing, so I guess he must be doing something right. Not trying to defend the man and everyone is allowed to have their critics, but I'm just giving an opinion from someone who checks in to your blog on a regular basis.
Did anyone notice how the 9-noon guy suddenly “softened” his approach recently? He’s toned down his loud-bad-ass-jerk approach. I’m wondering if he finally “read the room” after all the criticism posted on this blog about him. For all his bravado and claims that he can take criticism as long as you don’t “mess with his family” it’s obvious the man has a very thin skin. I’ve heard him on several occasions call out the “bloggers”. We all know he is only referring to one. The Great Rich Lieberman.
ReplyDeleteYou mean the guy who puts down those who come from "family money" yet whose father owned an orchard and a restaurant?
ReplyDeleteRidicules those who are "hiding something" under a cap or coloring their hair, yet hides daily under a desk, table, or a rolled up program?
As a strong observer of body language,no sooner than this post hit the net, then he got that pensive look on his face..like he just got hit with bad news...
ReplyDeleteP.S. What's the update with beloved Gene Burns of KGO radio??
ReplyDeletePlease, please, with such a well-respected, well-loved man, could we also implore KGO management, friends, and co-workers to set up Mr. Burns in a residence with few (or now) stairs? Or maybe even an in-residence studio?
Let's just let Rich and Gary box it out down on Union Square with Tony Bruno refereeing and Phil Burton, Willie Brown and Mr. "YouCanKissMyBlack..." scoring... for charity of course.
ReplyDeleteRadnich has invited angry serial emailers to appear on his show to tell him what their beef is...but no Rich invites? Even on his own turf with his crew to of course back and laugh at everything he comes up with, and with the playing feild slanted in his favor..he still fears the Goombah of 415?
ReplyDeleteIt would be historic.
You know-the best interview Radnich ever did- I'm being serious- was when he let the angry, angry,Randy Johnson go off on him..what came out was Johnsons issues with his father that was sad to hear, and how he ripped Radnich over not paying attention and some strange rants..and it actually made Radnich look good as he mostly listened.
See? Radnich should try it with Rich..
So your tagline '...dishing dirt since 2001' is meaningless?
ReplyDeleteRich, did you catch the 9am to noon guy on the defensive this morning after an emailer called him out for laughing about the death of Shaun Hill’s dad who passed away after falling off a roof?
ReplyDeleteApparently at the end of his show yesterday he brought it up for some odd reason. Not sure why considering the fact that when Carter B Smith and Pete Wilson died he never brought up their passing, instead he chose to announce the late breaking news of a guy falling off a roof. I’m beginning to wonder if he has emotional and/or mental issues. Very insensitive and erratic.
