The 24/7 news cabler had been operating here for over fifteen years.
Former CNN correspondent Rusty Dornin tells Newsblues.com, (paywall,) "We covered fires, floods, earthquakes, wars, the wacky world of SF politics, the Unabomber, and oh yes, Michael Jackson and Scott Peterson (ugh), to name a few. Farewell...it was a great run!"
UPDATE: A CNN spokesperson says the network is not shutting down, merely reorganizing: "Beginning Feb. 1, our staff there are realigning to cover Silicon Valley in addition to covering breaking news in the region. Staffing remains the same. CNN maintains its presence in the region. They are going to rename it CNN Silicon Valley."

What's this? San Francisco is not the center of the universe? Silicon Valley is more newsworthy on a national/international platform? This is heresy. Someone should notify the local media.
