Mathai's "News" deal at NBC Bay Area; "Chronicle Live" Tonight; "NBC Sunday Night" appearences

As reported here, exclusively, Thursday, and now confirmed through sources, Raj Mathai will indeed be moved to a news anchor position at NBC Bay Area, although his position(s) will include sports duties at Comcast SportsNet, and a significant role at the 2012 Olympics, which of course, will be televised by NBC.

A source close to Mathai told me that NBC wanted to "transition" him from sports to news for the past three years--they view him as upper-tier talent, and so much so that he will have a significant role and placement at the Olympics and its gazillion hours of programming.

**Plug dept--I'll be on "Chronicle Live",(hosted by Greg Papa), tonight at 5 PM, (repeated at 11 PM) and, coincidentally, I'll be guesting on the NBC Bay Area Sunday Night Sports-Wrap-Up show at 11: 30 PM, hosted, by, oh yeah, that guy, Raj Mathai.

  1. Raj Mathai as a "news" guy? Completely laughable. "Top-Tier Talent"? Riiiiiiight.

Funny, never read a single story on his background in the local papers. You guess why.

  3. And when the others try to talk over you because they think they are better than you-it's that obvious how they feel towards you by their act last time- You say-loudly," Hey I'm talk'in herea!"
It was a digrace the way you were treated last time.
And call Papa down too. "Thats a nice view of your back Greg" you should say. "Could you be a little more polite?"
Maybe, its just not me to let others tread on me.

  5. Raj is the best thing KNTV has. No wonder they want him doing news, might as well get rid of the weather guesser of the week and have Raj do that too, He is a top tier talent who somehow ended up on this bedraggled news operation, smart to go with him.

  6. A much better Comcast appearance Rich. More lively, better integrated. And I do beleive Greg read my posts as he was very polite, never gave you the back of his head to admire his barbers work.
Now,they need to bring up a topic of your expertise-the local Media/Sports Media.
    That might not be soon-lol.
