Another year. Yippee!
Much too fast as usual, but then again isn't that what we say all the time? Only now with a few more familiar faces and voices gone from the airwaves, and in most cases, that's too bad, but we've also gone down that road before. Nothing new.
The business is getting more ridiculous by the day. The Bay Area is no different than any of the other markets, only, apparently, it's obvious that a lot of people would be, and are, willing to work here on the cheap because its San Fran and big market and all those cool restaurants and bars, in spite of all the consultants and "image makers" that hire the 30-something blonds that don't know Doyle Drive from Doyle M cManus.
That being said, I'm looking forward to 2011. I know there's a lot of you, reporters, TV/Radio/news people, sports, weather guessers, assignment editors, all the outlets, who have turned here, (in spite of me) to get a daily dose of 415 Media. Thanks, that's why I do this.
I've never pretended to be a journalist-- just a mere blogger, trying dutifully to provide you all the inside and outside dope. I've had a few hits and misses. Nobody's perfect. We strive for accuracy, we really do and make it a habit of getting it right. Again, we're not immune from mistakes, but if you want the NY Times, go ahead and make my day.
This is supposed to be a holiday cheer. Ha Ha. Seriously now, too all of you out there, have a safe and happy one and enjoy your friends and family. Be sure to hoist a few too and see you back soon.
**May post periodically, but will only do so if anything notable breaks.

ReplyDeleteWHAT? no post of the Rex Ryan foot tapes?. Why so open? What were they thinking?
ReplyDeleteAnd props to the Hayward Youth academy for the good work they do. Also to Mountain Mikes Pizza-best in town, no lie. Love that meatza pizza on a crunchy crust..mmmm.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Rich, and have a Very Happy New Year...
ReplyDeleteI'd also like to "Thank You" for giving us all the opportunity to *vent* about out Local Media Outlets. I for one appreciate it...

ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays.
Speaking of truth, dumb local media and Comcast..Comcast sports newest commercials? The one where they have some of their hosts applying eyeblack while the announcer says -man up? It's having the opposite effect of "man up". It's more like those guys have watched their wives apply makeup waaay too often. Delicate is how those guys look.
ReplyDeleteNow,stick two fingers into eye black and smear under fiery eyes like Indian braves stereotype-THAT'S man up. THAT's go'en hunt'en eyeblack.
Comcast guys use a mirror too..delicate man, delicate.
