Thuy Vu, longtime Bay Area anchor/reporter at KPIX, will leave her news anchor chair and co-host the station's weeknight magazine show, "Eye on the Bay", according to one of my sources.
Vu, who is a three-time Emmy winner, has co-anchored both the 5 and 6PM shows on 'PIX--she also spent some time at KTVU.

Is Brian Hackney or Liam Mayclem leaving? Does that show do any good? ABC got rid of its local show...kind of surprises this one is still around. What is the scoop?

ReplyDeleteThuy is a terrific on air personality. I have seen some of her work on Eye On The Bay and my only suggestion is that she should tone it down a notch. Every segment I watched her on she was way too excited and animated. I got the impression that she was auditioning for a full time position. Now you have it Thuy, calm down a little.
ReplyDeleteI like Eye on the Bay more than I did 'Evening Magazine'..Eye is more quirky like the bay area. Hackney does a great job of making bay area history interesting.I have noticed that Liam seems to have his feelings hurt too easy when people misundertand him.
ReplyDeleteAnd if I was Hackney, I probably would brag too much about my classic car too. Just natural for Californians to love their cars.
I've always thought KTVU blew it when they let her get away. She's a great anchor. I'm sure she'll be terrific alongside Hackney.
