Nobody has a clue who'll win 2010 World Series; (nice victory for Giants in Game 1) Thursday Media Round-Up

As Eric Young points out in a stunningly timely piece in the SF Business Times, the so-called "experts", notably the mothership, ESPN, had a clue that the Giants would make the post-season, let alone, be three wins away from winning their first World Series in San Francisco.

(Extra: How 'bout that much predicted pitching duel Wednesday night in Game 1?)

And that's the point here.

We all might as well be "experts" to have a clue as to who will win. We're no worse, (or better for that matter) than the so-called hardball intelligentsia that had Yankees-Phillies or Rockies-Red Sox in the Fall Classic.

**No win department: Had to be a little awkward for Jon Miller to call that Juan Uribe homer Wednesday night, don't you think? Not at all, Miller is a well-respected pro and I'm 100% certain he'd have been just as excited to call a Rangers highlight, (as he did when they scored first, for example.)

**I'm not a big Joe Morgan fan, but he's very good on radio and his analysis is first rate. And Morgan will probably tell you that.

**Speaking of Morgan and Miller, according to the NY Daily News, their days may be numbered working as a duo for ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.

  1. It turns out your regular contributor here was right Rich-Radnich(admitted on his radio show today) is on the outs with the Giants and de-facto Comcast west, for his hugely wrong backing of both Phillie and then Texas. He's no longer doing Giant pre or post game shows, and even KNBR kept him in studio for the first two home game unlike the NLCS.
He really is a kook-sucking up to management all year,Giant's brass all year, then,as soon as the Giants get big-he turns his back on them! He couldn't look any more bored today for example talking Giants-it's that obvious. Also-for some bizarre reason he was baiting Bill Neukom on the price of tickets a few days ago.And Nuekom was VERY uncomfortable for minute after minute being put on the spot made to look as an elitist. Radnich can't share the spotlight-even if it's for a Giant World Series victory. Kooky.
