Giants Miller-Less for World Series; Kruk and Kuip on KNBR; Media Notes Monday

**Jon Miller will be calling all World Series games on ESPN Radio, while Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper will man the KNBR booth with David B. Flemming, (Flemming will work Stanford football on Saturday)

**Your usual media suspects, Comcast, KNBR, ESPN, plan wall-to-wall WS coverage.

**Potential logistical hell: The weather people are predicting rain for Thursday night, which is the second game here. There's a travel day off Friday, but a Fox and MLB guy told me that "other commitments" make a Friday home game at AT&T Park "hell on wheels", (he said that) combined with the fact that rain is also forecast Friday. Deal with it, Fox.

**The 9-Nooner on Knibber did everything but make radio love on Monday while conducting his usual Giants love, endless, repetitious shtick and sounded like a 59 year-old kid on Glee. However cumbersome he sounded, at least it beat watching him on the "Sunday Rap.", which is now officially a dud,.

**Timing is everything dept.: The Warriors open up their NBA season at home Wednesday night...the same night as Game 1 of the World Series.

**You can sleep now: KNBR GMer, Lee Hammer, has now decided to skip London and stay home to be at the World Series. Love is in the Bay Area.

**Raddy got so exicited Monday he didn't tell his audience that in order to be whole, you have to "have a father and mother that loves you and take care of your family and kids." Anything that axes his Dr. Phil, I'm in--atta babe!

**Post World Series, that big radio outlet is due for a little bit of corporate comfort from the boys in Atlanta, you heard it from me first.

**Yes, it is true: The TV people would have much preferred a SF-NY or Philly-Texas series because as much as the Bay Area baseball fans couldn't care less, Giants--Rangers is a ratings loser. Sorry, that's just the facts.

**KNBR is making a few extra bucks during this playoff/WS run. Good, they're going to need it.

**By the way, Joe Buck and Tim McCarver could care less who's playing. They neither hate nor love the Giants, Rangers, Phills, whoever, trust me.

**Patrick Conner, the enabled one, played Jon Miller's pbp actuality of  Juan Uribe's game-winning dinger because "Lee Hammer wanted me to play it--he's my 'boss." (He wasn't kidding.)

**This just in: There's a rumor that Meg Whitman has offered the Bay Area a deal: vote for Meg and she'll pick up the remainder of Barry Zito's contract.

  1. Radnich hasnt been seen on any Comcast playoff pre or postgame. Is that because TBS or FOX carry the games?..even though FP is there on Comcast? or might it be the Giants werent happy that 9-5 picked Philly "As the better team to beat the Giants in 5-6 games"..? I wonder.

  2. Good thing Lee Hammer is staying in town. He needs to make sure that all the right people get their media credentials and WS tickets!

  3. Amazing how Jon Miller bounced back and forth between gigs. He must have a huge trove of Frequent Flyer Miles.

Wednesday he was in New York for the 5th game of the ALCS on ESPN radio.
Thursday he was in San Francisco for KNBR for the Giants loss in the 5th game of the NLCS.
Friday he was in Texas for ESPN Radio calling the Rangers clinching the ALCS in Game 6.
Saturday he was in Philadelphia calling the Giants Game 6 clincher for KNBR.

  4. Also, call me old fashioned, but I would have liked a near hysterical call of the 8th inning HR by Uribe and equally dramatic kind of Giants win the Pennant! then Miller dished out-they were pretty much his regular season tones. The game was a nailbiter and it would have capped it off to have some vocal drama, even if it was over the top. Maybe, its just me.
    Now,Bill King,Lon Simmons,K%K even, would have..
Not that Jon's was bad..just not quite what it could have been.
