A Central-Valley News TV station, (unknown) sent a two-person crew of reporters to cover the after-game euphoria of the Giants victory over the Texas Rangers in Game 2 of the World Series, outside AT&T Park near "McCovey Cove."
As evidenced here, the reporters were subject to threats, taunts, and some scary moments from a group of rowdy, obviously intoxicated "fans" whose sole appearance, it appears, was to scare the living crap out of these folks...the unidentified female reporter at one point threatens to call the police, (you'd have to ask: where were they in the first place?)
This apparently isn't an isolated incident. There have been several reports of similar incidents near the cove during the playoffs.
Attemps to reach the Giants PR dept. were unsuccessful.
I thought Bay Area sports fans were too hip and sophisticated for this type of behavior?
ReplyDeleteI guessed wrong.
Typical Giant trash, dopey losers who have f---ed up their life with drugs and liquor. Miserable putzes who have no compass, these s-t bags aren't kids either.
ReplyDeleteSFPD needs to Patrol the McCovey Cove area ASAP! There are a lot of Rowdy folks in that area around AT&T PARK that are smoking Weed, getting high, and drinking. There was also a big Brawl at the McDonalds that is located near the Baseball Park on 3rd Street. Zennie 62 has covered that on his sfgate blog.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wake-up call for SFPD, if the Giants should win the World Series, they need to be out there keeping order!
And take note...this is NOT an ALL San Francisco Crowd! Ch. 2 interviewed a guy who said, I'm a Raider/Oakland A's fan, and I am here to celebrate the Giants in the World Series. Outside force unfortunately can, and do ruin the glo of what the Giants have achieved.
Radnich on KNBR alluded to them as "Raider type fans"..that's his code for Mexicans.Patrick Connors usually just comes out and says Mexicans-to his eyes. But I saw all colors there -white,asian too. The loudest talkers sounded caucasian fwiw.
ReplyDeleteAnd you would have thought that those two reporters would have the common sense not to see that young drunken crowd in a dark area with NO event staff around to cancel that remote. It's like,"Lets go to a seedy dive and tell people this is typical San Francisco"..dumb.
Unknown TV crew from nowhere parks themselves on the far side of mccovey cove where there's no security and they cry bad fans. Note to douchebags you're not Vern, Gary, Dennis O'Donnell, Mike Shue or any other local sports entity, consider yourselves punked.
ReplyDeleteThis news crew is from KCOY out of Santa Maria. They are Central Coast, by the way, not Central Valley.
