Rain falls on KNBR/Giants 'fanfest; McGrew/Allen try best Al Roker act

Saturday morning radio around 9ish; KNBR's annual radio love affair with its baseball partner, SF Giants. Must be "Fanfest" time. Too bad the weather didn't cooperate. Its pouring rain. OK, I'll say showery, because the weather minions say its officially not "rain"; all I know is its wet and damp outside. Too bad the opening Knibber hosts, Gary Allen and Scott McGrew, tried their damnest to forget about the conditions.

"We'll, its not raining here at the park," said host Allen, who very well could have been inside an empty Embarcadero warehouse, being the lack of any noise from guys wearing Lincecum jerseys. To Allen's defense, the doors weren't officially open yet; although it may have made more sense if "Live broadcast" had begun, oh, say later?

One of my 12 spies called and said AT&T Park looked like a wet sandlot. Then again, last weekend, the stadium played host to a motocross event. Lovely. No field. Lots of canopies, (for the hosts, of course) and a five-hour commercial for the Giants, begun by rainless hosts while it pours outside.

Hello, caller? Caller, are you there?
