Well, some of us figured this whole matter would be resolved with a plea deal, (especially nifty for the accused).
SF Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi feels pretty good. He should.
The Bay Area media, on the other hand, has to feel mightily disappointed. After all, this alleged, local domestic dispute that happened to involve one of SF's most powerful criminal justice officials would have made for a dandy legal affair.
Juicy, you say? We agree. Hell, we even heard that one of the really huge tabloid stars was raring to come to the city to report on the proceedings. There goes that would -be 415 expense account.
Oh, let's give credit where credit is due: None other than Willie Brown himself advised Mirkarimi and his legal staff to cut a deal, and da dam, a deal was done. Kudos to Da Mayor. I think the sheriff owes him and his lawyer dinner at Tadich.
