Furthermore, Gonzales isn't taking this lightly. Newsblues, (paywall), which broke the story, has said she's hired a lawyer.
I have said in the past that it's well known that KPIX news director, Dan Rosenheim, has never liked the popular Gonzales. Rosenheim played a major role in this move, according to many of my insiders.
Gonzales has anchored the 5, 6 and 11 PM weather and also provides weather updates for KCBS.
This move seems to be, early on, a direct power play by Rosenheim, who likes to pick and choose his players. He's good buddies with sports anchor, Dennis O'Donnell, and has pushed hard for fellow weather bud, Brian Hackney. In fact, it was widely rumored that Rosenheim wanted Hackney to do weeknight weather and push Gonzales over to the weekend.
This much is clear. Gonzales, in addition to being a popular personality with Bay Area viewers, is also an active charity participant. Frankly, this move by PIX befuddles me and is sure to draw the ire of many of its core viewers, most notably, women. And yes, of course, men too.

Roberta has BALLS...and cred...NOT someone to mess with! She and Randy, (her husband, Randy Hahn, Sharks TV guy), make LOTS....so they have some $$$$ to spend on lawyers. They are both GREAT people who do a lot of charity work and other good causes....some public opion is going to be on her side.
