KGO Radio went to paid programming on Saturday morning. That's right, what should have been the Angie Coiro program, (10-1 PM Sat.-Sun--Coiro did 12-1 PM), was instead some canned, taped, financial show.
Worse yet, a trip to the KGO website indicated that the "Angie Coiro Program" was playing. Not. (She'll be on Sunday 10-1).
So in typical Cumulus style, they not only play taped and canned programming, they don't even mention it on the website. Typical.
No word yet if this is just a temporary dry run although I've been saying for weeks that a regular schedule of taped finance and real-estate shows was on the Cumulus radar for weekend KGO programming.
This was a decision that was made late in the week and had to come from Atlanta, according to a broadcast source. After the financial show, Michael Finney's consumer show, from 1-4 PM, was running so perhaps this was a dry run of what's to come.
As usual, I will try to get to the bottom of this all for those of you that care anymore.
