After losing one of their core personalities in the sports dept, they decided to make a few personnel moves of their own--decisions almost certain to maintain the less-than-happy-us feel at 1001 Van Ness.
In short order, last Friday KRON laid off three people.
Craig Sklar--the respected South Bay morning Video journalist, Kimberlee Sakamoto (the morning and evening on camera Web producer-- (rumors: they didn't like her weight gain) and Norman Leong....long time veteran graphic artist and popular staffer with colleagues.
* Noted without comment: In case you didn't know and care, reportedly, Radu himself, who worked along side Vern Glenn for over two decades failed to mention nor acknowledge his departed weekend anchor/reporter. Yeah, a small TV "mention", but NADA on radio.
*Those of you who have asked and bitched about S(Cum)ulus decision to pull the plug on "Coast-to-Coast" on KSFO, they've done worse things. I'm not a C2C guy, but I know about the interest among all of you who have a thirst for the paranormal circuit. Do what you have to do. But seriously, not that great a loss. Oh wait, yeah, beats the truckers. A drunk monkey beats the truckers.
UPDATE from C2C PR People: "C2C is very happy to welcome our new affiliate in San Francisco and the Bay Area, KKSF-910 AM, which will begin carrying the show live nightly 10p-2am (with repeats until 5am), starting on Wed. May 30th."
