1550 AM "Oldies" really didn't have a chance. It is in what the radio biz people refer to as the "Death Valley" of dial positions, the very last clear channel all the way to the right. It's only non-computer generated content was the Oakland Raiders AM flagship, (The Raiders will stay on CBS FMer, "Live 105").
Most people in the Bay Area will remember the old KFRC, (610 AM, now "Family Radio"), the late 60's, 70's and early-mid 80 AM Top 40 radio powerhouse.
