Since I've retired. KCBS has been replaced with Sirius XM radio. The Grateful Dead's time has long since passed. If people want to play dress up and play make believe hippy...Knock yourself out. Just hope people behave themselves. Not worth having an aneurysm over.
I worked for the DEAD. I got the job when they asked me are you a DEADHEAD? I said, no I dislike their music. I was hired instantly. There fan base, is still strong. But eventually, even Elvis, the fans will die off literally.
Down here on Highland Blvd. L.A. New Brad Pitt movie-set in 1977. Young people don't know what a phone booth was, a store that sold and fixed TV's. 1977 was a long time ago. Anybody remember Arthur Godfrey?
Grateful Dead time has not passed, judging by the completed sell out at the Polo Fields. I'm not a fan of the DEAD, and I told the boss that and was instantly hired to work in the ticket office in San Rafael.
KCBS is repeating the same news Saturday 10 hours later. No updates. No breaking news. Etc. The greatful dead is not actually "news" more of a lifestyle segment. I don't actually know what the greatful dead is Some indie rock group. I guess
Right. That’s why nearly 200,000 people just clogged San Francisco for the weekend, spending millions to watch a band that supposedly died decades ago. Because nothing screams “irrelevant” like a citywide takeover, 60,000+ at three sold-out shows, and a fanbase still growing after five decades. They pulled a bigger crowd than the Super Bowl, but sure, let’s pretend they’re some forgotten relic.
Does the working staff have any input on the way KCBS is run? I mean someone there must know how $hitty this station has gotten over the years. KCBS needs a complete makeover.
@ 7:31 Why don't they do it at the Great Highway and the beach? Truly will be "Outside Lands" These concerts are hell for the Richmond and Sunset residents
@3:26 I agree, but the GH is probably too narrow for concerts. The GG Park always looks like crap after major events. They should have everything at Oracle Park, which is set up for major outdoor events.

ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with nostalgia but you're right about SIrius XM, had it since 2021, so much content and never looked back

9:44. It's a money grab and everyone knows it, with a knock off of the real deal.
DeleteLike going to see the Beatles without Lennon or the Stones without Mick.

ReplyDeleteDon’t forget 17 night sellout run at The Sphere in Vegas.
ReplyDeleteIt was 18 shows this year and 30 shows last year.
DeleteWeekend #1 of GG Park concerts is now over with two more weekends to go. Enjoy the park now. It will never look the same after these concerts.
