I understand your post. You might want to look on Youtube videos of the people were fired by KNBR and formed their own channel. You can view it when you have time and comment. There are apart of the Bay Area Media just not on radio. You can compare and contrast to Youtube and what they did at KNBR.

Knbr sounds like an informercial paid programming. Bland boring with fake phone in guest. At least Ralph lived in San Francisco unlike the Marin county fool Murph who pretends he knows the City. Murphy is a putz and a fake ass wimp! The tough guy he is not, just a loud mouth.
In my travels I've listened to sports talk in Seattle, Denver, LA, San Diego, Chicago and Dallas. KNBR doesn't come close to those stations. KNBR hosts (see Copie) talk too fast and giggle too much.
The "Golden Days" of KNBR were with Gary Radnich, Pete Franklin (The Best), "The Razor" Ralph Barbieri & Sports Phone 68 before Bobby Fitz. Now it sounds like college radio with clowns like Kopie Copes, Marcus (I'll work for a bag of peanuts with zero insightful takes), Greg Pap & Mike Silver's son. Nepotism radio! Dieter Kirtenbach tries with Sports Phone 68 but it's nothing you have to tune in for after a Giants games. Talk about a sinking radio ship. Papa is bizarre & just a weird dude. Talk about Dirty Work.
KNBR is a waste of 50,000 watts. I haven't listened to KNBR in more than 10 years. Not worth it. I get my sports news from satellite radio. If it's 49ers games, I'll listen to the opponent's radio feed. Anything but Gregory and ManBun.
Or the worst one on KNBR Rod Brooks how he lasted so long with no talent and short life as sideline reporter for 49ers. What happened as I recall he did not a full season?
Ralph did live in the city but eventually moved to Novato. Used to hate the Blue Angels when they flew over his place in SF because it upset Sunshine his cat. And Murf is a soft liberal clown living in Marin.
