Probably half of The Sports Leader’s advertising revenue comes from the Giants’ broadcasts. So KNBR, better known as “Cumulitus” ( a virulent broadcast virus,) desperately needed the Giants to stay aboard. And conversely, why would the Giants want to go anywhere else? KNBR is one of the most powerful stations in America. It is a 50,000 watt clear channel station that can be picked up throughout almost all of the western United States at night. When Rush Limbaugh was getting his “EIB Network” ( excellence in BAD radio) going in 1990, KNBR was one of the first major market stations that helped launch him to “ fame.” As a result, he spread his BS far and wide, and KNBR was complicit because it meant $$$ and ratings. So yes, the Giants need KNBR and KNBR, (Cumulitus,) needs the Giants.
