Used to love the Tom Snyder tomorrow show. He had a very distinctive style and seemed to always be smoking a cigarette. I grew up in Tiburon and my dad said he would often run into Tom Snyder at the dog park in Belvedere where Tom liked to take his dog. My dad struck up a casual friendship with Tom who he said was a very interesting guy. Liked your story about him and Mickey Luckoff. A couple of big egos, but two people that were highly respected in the profession.
Same here, I loved his show. Remember the Plasmatics? It was classic.
I used to hear about his walking his dog in a Corte Madera park and he contributed a considerable amount of money to the Sausalito 4th of July fireworks year after year.
Thank you for the Snyder-Luckoff story. Snyder was a talent we no longer see and I was aware he lived in the North Bay. Not always a fan of your criticism but you are 100% accurate about the strength and entertainment value of KGO in the 70's and even into the 80's. Really sad there is not anything like it now. I can't make toast but I would always listen to Gene Burns and Narsai David on mid day Saturdays. Again thank you

It’s sad what has happened to late night TV.

ReplyDelete"It’s sad what has happened to late night TV." I hear you! No witty humor or interesting guests anymore. Woke killed it (like everything it touches).
ReplyDeleteI remember his interview with Kiss.. Ace Frehley was wasted.. I still YouTube it. I laughed way to hard
