I see KCBS eventually operating out of a Mexican food truck. Reporting remotely, while someone's abuela is in the back, stirring a pot of menudo or albongas...or making hecho a mano torillas and carne asada burritos. It's the only way they can remain solvent and generate any interest.
KCBS has gotten better in the last few months. The morning anchors (including Eric Thomas) are doing a good job. Their outside interviews on various topics are asking pertinent question and are informative. The sports reporting is much better with more updated sports scores of local teams and relevant team information. Traffic reporting has gotten worse. It is poor.
KCBS is very nostalgic to me. I started listening to KCBS before the internet and before smartphones, so I relied on the station for info, whether news, traffic, or sports. Yes, KCBS isn't the same these days, but I still enjoy it in small doses.....usually about 30 mins on weekdays. Until they pull the plug, I'll continue to listen.
KCBS “BS AND weather together on the 8’s” Their reporting has about as little meaning to me as stories of the Melendez Brothers. Gas em. Gas the Kardashians. Gas Newsom. Gas Steve Garvey. Gas Musk. We need these assholes like another hole in our head.
It is so sad what has happened to bay area radio. Hiring untrained “ kids” who belong in Fresno or Stockton and keep getting recycled by these stations like potato chips is frustrating to listen to. I don’t blame the “youngsters” for taking the jobs for peanuts, just so they could be on air. At least they got rid of that insufferable ditz who was doing a poor job of impersonating a News Director. Don’t listen to KCBS, KNBR and any other crap that passes for radio broadcasting these days. SF radio use to have some of best programs and talent in the country but companies such as Audacy, Cumulus and I-heart shredded these stations and put crap on the air in its place.l,

ReplyDeleteYou must be a troll for Audacity. "KCBS has gotten better?" At what?
DeleteRich, if there were twenty four nails on a 2x4...you hit every one of them on the head.
ReplyDeleteRich, they all ended overnight traffic months ago, in most audacy markets
ReplyDeleteWho needs traffic reports? As someone I know has said, "Always trust Waze."
