    1. I remember the good ol days, when Wayne Walker would rip one in the press box that would peel the paint off the wall.

  3. After another Chiefs spanking, it's very legitimate to ask if Kyle's job is in jeopardy. He's a great coach, but just can't win the big games. The 9ers are sub-500 now and I'd be surprised if he finishes the season.

    1. Great coach?, I beg to differ, can't win big games, no ability to recruit good coaches for defense and special teams, lost 3 SB's

    2. Those thoughts crossed my mind, as well, while watching Sunday's beatdown. Again, they were outplayed and outcoached.

    3. Bud Grant's Super Bowl record was 0-4, and he is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And his Vikings were thrashed in 3 of those 4 Viking SB losses. In the one SB where they actually had an outside chance to win, they only gained 119 yards in total offense.

George Seifert's Super Bowl record was 2-0, and he was a key assistant on 3 other Super Bowl winning teams. Not likely George will ever be inducted into the PFHOF, however. Seems there is some degree of subjectively, with regard to what defines a great coach.

    4. @ 8:30 Bud Grant has a competitor: Kyle; yes, assistant in one of the biggest SB meltdowns in history, lost 2 with the 9ers despite being ahead in the 4th; don't forget, George Seifert took over Bill Walsh's "team", one that Walsh built that lasted until Seifert's 2nd SB, after that he has proven he's just a "regular" coach, greatness is greatness like Vince Lombardi, Jimmy Johnson, Bill Walsh, John Madden, baseball's Billy Martin, Bruce Bochy and others

    5. @8:30 "subjective" is a good way to put it. Kyle is a good coach who's had great moments. His father had almost the same winning percentage, but he has two rings. Marv Levy is a great coach who took his team to four straight SBs, but lost them all.

    6. Kyle doesn't deserve to be fired, but there are some good coaches available now, like Belichick and Carroll. If the 9ers wait, these coaches and others may not be available.

    7. @ 3:13 What's the old adage "If you don't win the big dance nobody remembers you", take Bob Fouts and Dan Marino for example, unbelievable tosser but no SB, who really remembers?

  4. Well, I've predicted as long as kyle stays the 9ers will fail, just like today, no defense, no special team, offensive players are fragile, totally jinxed

  5. Tom Brady with his "San Fran" again!

    2. You certainly don’t need to tell Papa that! He enunciates and literally screams slowly and sanctimoniously the crap out of the full City name whenever the 49ers score no matter the significance in the games, including ones doomed to lose like this one. The guy sounds like a fanboy disguised as a lousy radio game caller and a freaking lunatic like his loud mouth ex-player Tim Ryan side kick. If they rightly fire Kyle, they should also fire these crazy 49ers announcers while at it who can’t even give basic information like the score occasionally. Get some broadcast talent from the Networks like ESPN because we have none here at our crappy sports stations. Maybe they can be “on assignment” to broadcast 49ers games.

  9. Niners are having a sub par year. That happens. They will not make the playoffs.
The fan boy reporters and paid employees of the Niners have no filter - “Niners are the best !” they repeat ad nauseam. It does not require much to see the Niners are frequently over-matched.
But when all is said and done, it is simply a sport being played for entertainment and to sell beer, gambling sites, and cheetos.

    1. @ We are fortunate we had Bill Walsh, Bruce Bochy, Steve Kerr (wished he wasn't so political and concentrate on rebuilding Warriors but thanks for 3 championships)so even though these 3 big guns are having off seasons we are grateful for having winning years

    2. Clarification from @ 3:11 Meant Giants, 49ers and Warriors having off seasons

  10. KCBS sports at 15 and 45 is mostly taped reruns for days on end. Why bother...

  11. You're right. There's no San Francisco 49ers press corps. They're all lemmings being led to wherever by the PR staff. Nobody wants to rock the boat. In fact, it's that way in all professional team sports and their reporters throughout the country, with very few exceptions. Those pre- and post-game shows are nothing but paid commercials for the teams. Locally produced game broadcasts are nothing but paid commercials for the teams. Why isn't the public crying out for more? You have to ask? Most of these people live for whatever bullshit they're fed by KNBR. "Well, they said that on KNBR." You dumb fucking idiots. Have a mind. But then again, it's the Bay Area sports event chaser, not fan or follower. If the 49ers lose to Jerry's Team next Sunday, the rats will be jumping off the ship so fucking fast...

  12. Give that mealmouth Mike Silver some credit. He jumped that so-called newspaper, AKA The Chronicle. He knows how bad it is there. But what's telling is that Lombardi and Mr. Constipation Face, Tim Kawakami, have jumped from The Athletic. What does that say about The Athletic? Where's the SF Standard getting funding to take on some seasoned veteran journalists? Questions to be asked, Dickie Lieberman.

  13. I find it amusing that so many in the Bay Area (media, fans, and the players themselves) think of the 49ers as a great team, yet they haven't won anything since the 90s...Shanahan is the most overrated head coach in recent NFL history. Has he won anything?

  14. The State of Sports in the USA is appalling - College athletes being paid millions, pro athletes nearing the billion dollar mark.
Streaming, cable only, games, every other commercial for either a gambling site, or for crappy beer.
The niwits at KNBR keep beating a dead horse and flapping their gums. The opinions of Fan Boys are not worth the spittle they drool.
The Gladiator games are in full swing - you can now bet on how many get carted off the field !! I say “Bring back the Eye Gouge and the painful BITE !”
