SF Mass Media Campaign to Get Glen Kuiper Back in Game

24 comments:

  1. Completely agree. Glen made multiple racist comments and should be banned from the Bay Area market, but he expects through nepotism to simply sweep his comments under the rug again. He got what he deserved and people like Susan Slusser and Marty Lurie are complicit in this matter.

  2. Watch the Kuiper interview with Damon Bruce and watch a person that doesn't understand racism. It could be a product of his upbringing, but Kuiper just doesn't get it. He acts like the victim. For that, he doesn't deserve another chance.

  3. Rich, I sent you that link to the Damon Bruce interview. I appreciate you shedding light on this issue. As an A's fan, I've seen Glen from day one of his A's career and can say he's a solid broadcaster, but the response to his racial comments was more disappointing than the comments itself. As a person from Wisconsin, I'm fairly certain that using the n-word is part of the daily vocabulary, so for him to slip a few times in two decades is an amazing feat.

    1. What is it about Wisconsin that makes it so racist that the “n” word is routinely used each day by most white people there apparently per you? We have racists in California but I don’t hear often the “n” word and certainly not every day as I walk into restaurants or coffee places. It is about as far north as you can get; obviously no former Confederate state so I don’t get this. As far as politics, it seems split mostly which is why so much attention goes to it now.

    2. Glen lived in Racine, which has over 20% black population now, but he's been living in Danville for many years, which has less than 1% black population, so he's more likely to be racially influenced in Danville.

  4. The Giants fired a beloved black PA announcer and are allowing this to go on behind the scenes to test the waters for hiring a racist former Oakland A’s PBP announcer Glen Kuiper. His Giants’ announcer brother Duane is postponing retirement keeping the seat warm just for him. Nepotism reigns. Sounds about right for Baer and the principal owner of the Giants’ team. In fact, if Trump gets elected I bet Glen Kuiper will get the job even if there is Bay Area fan outrage. Might as well as the team will be mediocre at best with lousy attendance... It will be like the Athletics never left as no stars want to come the Giants.

    1. The black announcer was not fired for being black - the Giants were not willing to meet her price for a new contract. If you were going to fire someone because they were black, you probably wouldn't have hired them in the first place (assuming of course that they were black at the time of their hiring).

  5. I saw a clip of him using the word. He should never be apart of the SF Giants. I still see him as an A's person. I wonder of President Buster will change this. Ray from Sunnyvale

  6. If it was only once maybe give him a pass, but he said it twice on-air. He's got issues apparently.

  7. Liberal white candy asses! It's not the "N" word. It's "Nigger!". You dumb motherfuckers have never been called it. I have. Now unless you have had that distinction, save me the fake ass pretentious outrage!

    1. Racism occurs with all races. Just because someone hasn't been called the n-word doesn't mean they haven't felt the same pain.

    2. Sounds like your typical white trash raging Trump troll stooping here to pretending to be black so he can get his jollies using the word I guess RL is ok publishing.

  8. I knew sooner or later someone will try to get Trump in here, the least racist person in America, to try and slam him. I voted early to make sure my vote will count. MAGA.

    1. Search online, Trump has been recorded using the n-word before, so he's far from being the "least racist person in America."

  10. You'll notice the Giants never had that "ceremony" to name the PA booth after Renel.

    1. And your response is precisely why Harris will win in November. Deal with it, Mr. Patriot.

    4. 7:30 Did you see Cooper and Charlemagne the Douche drop the gloves and go at each other calling BS to each other's face live on CNN? Race baiter and a silver spoon white boy. Never interrupt your adversary when they are in the process of destroying themselves. The left is feeding on its own. Enjoy the next few weeks.

  12. Let me understand this - If the Giants decide to move on from an employee, it becomes a racial issue. Was she guaranteed lifetime employment? Why can't it be their choice to make a change? Be loved to who? Some love, some like and others don't care. On Kuiper I don't care. Get mad and don"t listen and keep your ticket money. BUT this current society does not believe in forgiveness. Once a mistake is made you are to be NEVER forgiven. I guess everyone else is perfect!!!!!!

  14. Renel didn't get let go by the Giants because of money or they didn't want to renew her contract, She was let go because they didn't like her criticizing team owner Charles Johnson for donating to racist politicians and Johnson didn't want Renel back after her contract ran out. If there should be any campaign it should be a huge push to hire her back but that won't happen. Kuiper used the N word twice on live TV and yet and still there is a push to get him back where the justification in this for someone like Renel. Kuiper should never come close to a microphone again.
