Donte Whitner is a fascinating person. I never miss his Monday game analysis on the Papa/Lund show. He's an avid reader and always seems to add an insightful analysis to his weekly segments.
Great Caesar's Ghost! Did anyone see Bailey O'Carroll's hard hitting recap of the 49ers game at the beginning of the 10 o'clock news. Then she was trying to reassure fans "the sky is not falling" and there is still a lot of the season left to go. Really? It gets better! She then reminds us Christian McCaffery, Deebo Samuel & George Kittle were out with injuries and will return hoipefully soon. Thanks Captain Obvious!
Dopey Kopes (Giggle Giggle Giggle) and Jon Lund are horrible. They bring nothing to breaking down the game and are just sad "fan boys" when the Niners lose. Even worse Adam Kopeland does a fantasy football podcast they play at 8am Sunday morning. Helpful hint... don't listen to advice. His fantasy teams stink and he makes himself sound like a fantasy expert and guru. Not!
Let’s be honest, the Niners are not that good. Yes they have injuries - all teams have injuries. Niners will NOT make playoffs this season Donte Whitner is the only cat to tell it like it is.
Not a 9ers fan here, but the 9ers not making the playoffs is a stretch. They're not as good as last year's team, but don't forget that team lost 3 in a row and went to the Superbowl. I think the 9ers will go 11-6 and make the playoffs.
As far as the “talent“ goes, you get what you pay for in radio and TV. Both mediums here in the Bay Area have gone cheap. Radio for the last 10 years, Television more recently. The people who are doing these shows are not being paid a whole lot of money. Normally, the kind of talent is that they have on both radio and TV. these days in sports is what you see in the minor leagues. The woman, I think her name is Bailey who works on KTVU? She basically has replaced the entire Sports staff which was fired or retired and not replaced. KTVU used to have a very respectable sports department with Mark Ibanez Joe Fonzie among the many others who came and at that station over the years And as far as Carlos Ramirez and Rod Brooks are concerned? I think they can give you some reasonable analysis, but their personalities and their talent level is not very high. Ramirez really still belongs in Salinas, that’s about the level of where he is in terms of talent. He doesn’t have a very engaging personality either. Brooks is a little better. he sounds professional, but there’s something about him that just gets under your skin. It’s kind of like listening to that minor-league announcer, Joe Rizzo or Ratso or whatever you call him, who fills in on SF Giants radio, and the insufferable FP Santangelo, who sounds as I if he’s trying to be funny, ( he isn’t,) and has a smarmy, annoying fret boy personality’. I’ve only watched these post shows once in a while. They are mostly just noise and nonsense. And the broadcast whenever Miller or Fleming are “on assignment?“ Thec two dweebs who fill in for them are unlistenable. Oh, and BTW, who is this useless person, ( woman,) who co hosts Matt Maiocca’s 49ers podcasts? She Dior’s nothing.
