Duane Kuiper is the most overrated baseball PBP announcer in the business. He ads nothing to the game broadcast other than announcing what time it starts (SMH). Krukow has been carrying him for years. That he has any influence at KNBR & Comcast to get his brother a job is mystifying. He needs to retire soon and take his racist brother with him. No on Glen Kuiper.
I think it is just the other way around - Kuiper calls games, Kruk doesn’t. Kruk is riding Kuipers coattails. Today BILLY BEAN died. He was once GM of some decent A’s teams. His passing really ends an era. I believe the Fishers ran the Athletics into the ground - trading away every decent player like clockwork. That not one team owner voted against the move is sickening. Billionaires be billionaires.
Yet a poll taken by awfullannouncing rates him as obe of the top announcers go figure. His voice is sleep inducing and the hr call is horriable as well. Krukow has some fixture with the baseball as he is always playing with it in the opening. Both should retire sooner than later.

Billy Lamar BeanE III is part owner of the Crazy A’s. Though not officially dead, he should be ashamed of his association with the Fisher Family. Sell-outs like him are why so many regular folks, who work at the Coliseum, are going to lose their living. On top of being the inflator of the John Fisher blow-up doll, he was also one of those guys wasting water during the drought. Maybe in his mind he had already moved to Vegas where such waste is a sign of enormous wealth, and an abundance of stupidity.
Rich, could you find out more about KQED finances; where is all the money going, if not to local content? This is a huge story, and could get you serious props (& $$$), and recognition in the media industry if you can reveal more.
11:55am, I totally agree and, via various comments, I’ve also been calling for Rich to do the same. Per KQED’s most recent public filing they brought in $89 MILLION in donations in 2022 alone. That’s just in one year. Beyond Check Please Bay Area and maybe a couple of digital podcasts, no sane person can claim that the sum total of kqed’s production requires $89 million annually. For perspective, KTVU brings in approximately $25 million in annual revenue and, say what you want about the quality of their programming, no one can argue they don’t produce a plethora of content plus all of the salary they have to pay.
Glen still plays the victim. It's obvious the n-word is used regularly where he grew up. There's not a lot to be proud of the A's the past several years, but giving Glen his pink slip was a great moment for the A's.
It's perfectly ok not to renew Renel's contract who spoke out against Giants owner Charles Johnson's donations to racist politicians who are trying to beat back civil rights but Glen Kuiper gets to skate after using the N word on a live TV broadcast. Marty also should know better to allow Glen to fill in on his show knowing what he did but like the mess KNBR is it's obvious he could careless about a whole community who was racially insulted.
ABC7 has more issues than one can meaningfully articulate in a blog comment, not the least of which is Julian Glover singing to management like a canary, snitching like it's going out of style. Sure, he's most certainly not the only problem employee, but it's employees like him who destroy morale and make going to work a miserable experience.
