Always great to hear a KCBS news anchor (Jennifer Hodges) repeatedly give a baseball score of the losing team FIRST...'the Giants lost to the Phillies 3 to 4."
The Handwriting is in the Wall - TV in its present form will die a slow undramatic death. Similar to the current death throes of newspapers, which must grab digital subscribers as quickly as possible. Radio, the oldies but goodies, talk-talk, sports talk - their revenue streams will become a trickle and then a dry wash. The problems were evident long ago, “200 channels and nothin’s on”. We kept being fed sawdust and stale beer, eventually the viewers died.
Layoffs are inevitable in terrestrial radio. KCBS should have some leverage since they're the only news station in town, but everything is trending towards online, if not already there.
I don’t get why KTVU cannot record a segment of the news and air it when the station is not completely off the air. Do the anchors still get paid not showing up, no news??
9:38 AM, EXACTLY! They’re not even a serious station if they can’t even do some electrical work without going off air for two full weekends in a row. I suppose if there had been a local catastrophe (massive earthquake, terrorism, etc) KTVU would’ve fed us infomercials and ‘zip trip’ recaps instead of essential news. But yet the apologists, asskissers, and (real) asshats love to shoot the messenger. They’re so silly.
Hey Rich, you hardly ever talk about NBC channel 3 news? They have some of most unattractive and dull reporters out there yet all you seem to rip on is KTVU with a little KRON and ABC thrown in from time to time.
Good thing Mornings on 2 is coming back next week. Although Tiffany Justice (on KRON) is attractive and all she is not quite ready for the news desk.

ReplyDeleteI would still like to know where KTVU is running their Master Control from during the maintenance work at Jack London Square. Anyone know?
DeleteHey 2:20, Ktvu had a power outage. Why do you not understand that asshat?
