Marty Lurie's show is outright pathetic. I've been listening since he went on air at 9am this morning and in approximately 70 minutes he's already spent 8+ minutes shilling for that Mosquito Islands aka Malaria Island shit dump housing projects out in the middle of nowhere.
Can someone tell me what happened to Darren Peck? I know he has been working hard filling in for Paul Heggen for 2.5 weeks, Paul came back last week giving Darren a full week off (rather than M, T, W 3, 8 and 9) & 2 full weekends off.
Hopefully he did not get fired.
I ask this because Darren is not usually the type of guy to take off like that. Also last weekend Brian Hackney did say Darren would stand on set and Brian would be like “Darren you forecast this”. Lets see if he ends up filling in for someone next week. Right now not in a position for Rich to investigate.
Also Rob Mayeda has not been there for 2 weekends on KNTV leaving Cintia to work double shifts on weekends.
Yeah! The last time he was ever on primetime covering weather was in August when that could have been done by Darren Peck. I remember on the 5pm newscast that day Darren was tieless and only came to cover a story. Weird!
With virtual weather in effect, what has happened is that they snagged different meteorologists from different stations sometimes. Paul Deanno filled in 1 week for a few days out or SoCal. They now do it in such a way that if both main meteorologists are off they let Darren fill in on the evenings.
Paul Deanno wore no tie (acceptable) but his fashion attire is far better than Paul Heggen (no jeans). Seriously they should offer Paul Deanno a good market rate to do both weather & news (maybe replace Hackney). He really loved the 3D weather set. Mary Lee did the 3D weather too.

Darren is filling in this week. I found out from Rob Mayeda’s IG that its because his father passed away.
