A relatively late newcomer is Max's - down the street which makes a pretty mean Reuben sandwich.There used to be a radio transmitting tower on the roof of one of the car dealerships North of TJ - it was labelled 'KFI', it may have been a hangover from the 40's when KFI would simulcast into SF...
Tommy's Joynt is horrid. Terrible food, lousy location, horrible place to sit. Dark and dank. Lousy place that should've been closed down by the FDA decades ago.
