50 Years Later: Patty Hearst

16 comments:

  1. Yes, and 3 months later the SLA met their fiery demise. She should have been a statistic on that May day. Probably the only time ever a bunch of dumb whites followed a crazy black man into a house in Compton and thought it was a good idea to engage LAPD in a firefight.

    1. Agreed. Another rich kid with no direction in life who was a "victim."

    2. Patty Hearst was not just a 'rich kid with no direction in life", she was a student at Cal when she was kidnapped.

    6. @1:11. Talking about you fool! Typical brain dead libby. Making assumptions devoid of facts. We all know that you're a special kind of stupid. Incapable of rational intelligent thought. Facts are kryptonite to you idiot apologists.

  2. Rich, just saw a video on Hall and Oates who sang Rich Girl a song about Patty Hearst. Ironically Hall is suing Oates and has a restraining order against Oates. Anyway Patty did get away with a huge crime and her parents bailed her out. Vintage 1974.

  3. I once saw Patty Hearst at the Hearst Castle when I stopped there for a tour. She was in the middle of filming something for the History Channel. Just a lucky coincidence. My brush with greatness.

  5. Talk about memories. I remember that when I was 10 watching the news (News Scene on 7) and their coverage of it. When stuff happened in the LA area, they would sometimes simulcast KABC's newscasts for a short time. True 70s.

  6. Rich girl by Hall and Oates is a song about a rich man's son in Chicago.
Rich girl flowed better than Rich man so they changed the gender..
