It's Not Goooooood: USF Pays 100 Grand to KNBR 1050 for Dons Basketball Games

HOW ABOUT THIS ...

USF is paying 100G to KNBR to air its Dons basketball games.

$100,000!

About 10-14 people listen to USF basketball. I'm joking a bit on the numbers but you get my drift.

Worse yet, pbp guy, Pat Olson is AWFUL and that's NOT GOOD!

  1. Is Draymond Green being traded to the Dons?

  2. Pat Olson is very good, and has a very long history with the program. You are WAY off base. Also, USF at least has a (growing) radio presence, which Saint Mary's and Santa Clara do not. USF should be applauded for this.

  3. Stay with the print. Even if it's useless. No one listens to USF games anymore.

  4. KNBR need to pay USF. Or send the 100g to Rich!

  5. As a former Don, the heyday of the Don’s sports supremacy is Long Gone. At one time they had a great Football program, and a great Soccer program, and a great basketball program. (After Quintin Dailey everything got downsized.
But since KNBR has no pro basketball, might as well have the semi-pros pay to recruit.
I believe the Dons frisbee golf team is ranked among the top 500.

    1. Their JV frisbee golf team is ranked #438. Their varsity Frisbee golf team is no longer ranked, after the got shellacked by the Acalanes High School girls team.

  6. Yeah stick with the written word. The Vlog is like James Wiseman. Realize a mistake and get rid of it.

    1. I used to come here daily now I hardly visit. I do not want to sit and listen to a 10 minute video diatribe. Sorry. I'm surprised he's actually getting 100 views. Lots of lonely retired people out there I guess.

  7. I know Pat Olson and he is no Tim Roye, What a waste of money by USF! Kopey Kopes as the new "Program Director" helped seal this deal. Feather in his cap to help pay his salary. No one listens to USF basketball on the radio. But let Pat think he's important and a true play-by-play guy. At least Jim Brovelli is a good color commentator.

  8. Baseball on the radio is wonderful. Basketball, even the Warriors when they were good, is awful.
