@3:38. Doubt this was the case. If so, she just signed her own walking papers in this economy. Last I checked, the building isn't in smoldering ruins and the weather and traffic reports are still being announced on the 8's.
Isn’t she and Kevin “the rat”, woman and husband? Since he was “made redundant” at another station, might there be tension at home? Ca$hflow problems ARE the #1 problem of married couples. But as another commenter so eloquently stated, “I can sleep now”ðð
Life happens. Meanwhile, wishing Kim well, what the hell has happened to Clarissa Ward, CNN's gutsy war correspondent. Israel blocks all media going into Gaza unless they embed with the IDF and allow all their video to be censored by the IDF. I don't think Clarissa would tolerate that.
What in the world is KCBS doing. They switch two different anchors back and forth thru the night. Tonight was Shane Guinness and Bryan Goebel. Other nights same thing with two different anchors.
same stories every hour again and again. same commercials again and again. traffic is only important between 6 and 9 AM then 3 to 7 PM. once you hear the weather you know what is going on for the day. no reason to listen for more than 30 minutes.
From what I understand, she has some rare affliction that has probably gotten worse. Now approaching her mid 60s, Kim is dealing with a serious health issue that many who are on their ‘ Golden Years’ unfortunately have to deal with. I hope for her sake she retires soon. There have been far too many radio and TV announcers who have had health issues in their latter year and then died before enjoying retirement. A veteran announcer at a local station once told me: “ you don’t want to be working on air after age 65.” This fellow retired at 65 and died the next year!
Ok Rich, what do you think could be the real reasons behind her LOA? Contract negotiating tactic? She wouldn't be the first to use that playbook.

DeleteI can sleep now.
ReplyDeleteMe too. A local radio anchor hasn't been on the air a few weeks. In other news, I boiled some water today.
DeletePlastic surgery maybe?
ReplyDeleteIt's a bad case if Covid.

ReplyDeleteAs Radnich used to say, "Nobody cares."
ReplyDeleteAnd nobody cares about Gary ðĪŠ
DeleteKPIX Curse again with anchor suddenly disappearing on air for months months and then good bye. Veronica, Dennis O Donnell, Andrea Borba.
