Little -Known Facts On This Presidents Day; Bay Area Media Celebrities and POTUS History; The Inside Dope

JOHN ROTHMANN woke up out of a deep sleep this Presidents Day to pitch KCBS: he offered an exclusive interview with Abe Lincoln and Richard Nixon.

To which Jenny Seelig responded: "thanks, we're good, but could Lincoln fill in the morning news anchor on Tuesday?"

*Nixon just blurted out, "I got your traffic and weather together right here, asshole!"

And as this occured, Pat Thurston shrieked, "Woooo-Hooo!"

*LITTLE KNOWN FACT: Lincoln almost bought Giants' season tickets but cancelled when they didn't get Aaron Judge.

*When Harry Truman made a visit to SF to make a speech before the UN, he arranged, first, to meet up with Dan Ashley and ask about contract negotiations with ABC.

*President John Kennedy was emphatic and direct to KRON's Darya Folsom: "ask not what your contract can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." Kennedy then split 1001 Van Ness and took Darya for a night out to Perry's.

*Did you know President Ford pardoned Will Tran?

*FDR was a great president, sure he was, but what did he really want? co-anchoring the 11 with Sara Donchey at PIX.

*I BET you didn't know President George HW Bush told Eric Thomas to stay away from morning drive: "wouldn't be prudent, Eric."

*ALEX SAVIDGE pooh-poohed KTVU's reluctance to make him the permanent 10 PM anchor: Savidge got a chip on his shoulder ever since Trump's visit to the Bay Area shortly after 2017 when first lady, Melania, told him, "yooo look so cuuute and adorable."

*President and Mrs. Clinton were aghast at the first time watchoing Roberta Gonzales do the weather but Bill got Hillary's wrath by inviting Roberta to the Buttercup for a nooner.

*President Barack Obama cut short a brief visit to San Jose --he was asked about reports of mass dysfunction at NBC Bay Area and specifically a rumor of a well-known anchor's relationship with a married man. The president was not gonna talk about all this.

*NIXON to Foodie Chap, Liam Mayclem: "I am NOT a cook!"

AND TO ALL THIS, President Ronald Reagan made contact with moi: "Rich, there you go again."

Thanks for enlightening us Rich, the picture you paint is neo-realism.

  4. Kennedy and Obama, our most charismatic presidents, followed by the 2 Roosevelts. Has nothing to do with their politics, although I liked their politics, especially Kennedy. You can like someone's personality and not their politics. In fact I have friends I adore, but we don't agree much on politics.

  9. 12:38 So you disagree with their politics does not mean you can't find them charming. As a woman that like good looking men, Kennedy certainly fit the bill, and he was charming as well. To make it more balanced l would say Ronald Reagan had a certain charm, l didn't care for his looks though.

  10. KTVU is becoming a joke. If Nexstar doesn't do any stupid moves at KRON TV, I believe soon KRON will surpass KTVU at the 10 o clock news...
