PIX, I Guess, Fears Elon

  1. If I had a car, and 75 percent of it stopped working, for one reason or another, I think I would refrain from driving it, until I got it checked out. I’m sure many others are doing what KPIX is doing. Pausing until Twitter works itself out.

    1. That might be the worst analogy I've ever read and your entire statement is idiotic. Try thinking before you type.

    1. I can't tell you the last thing I watched on CBS outside of the occasional football game. Don't watch any of their episodic shows, don't watch their news, and can't stand their late night virtue signal lineup. Based on what I read, I'm not alone.

    1. Exactly right. Fuck them.

    2. Common sense.

What on earth does "virtue signaling" have to do with it? This is why I hate it when a new buzz term comes around. The right just uses it over and over as an "answer" even when it's meaningless.

  5. Forget Twitter being a source of breaking news. It will be used on Instagram...

    1. We can only hope. Most of journalism these days is reporting about, and commenting on, tweets.

  6. Twitter will go the way of MySpace.

    1. @3:59- Not sure about all of that. Myspace was Facebook before Facebook, but Facebook overthrew Myspace to some extent.

Twitter like Facebook is too powerful to go away for good.

  7. I wonder how the Major Banks and Financial Institutions that supported the purchase feel about the actions taken by Elon?

  8. When a Billionaire calls the shots, nothing good will ensue.
Corporations have the legal equivalence of a human, I’ll believe that when Texas executes a corporation.
    Send Musk to Mars, one-way!

  9. Muskie is like the VCs who invested in those broadcasting concerns and bought up all the TV and radio stations. Gut the crap of them, reduce what little quality they have and be pissed off because they overpaid. Typical insensitive, arrogant, entitled tech people.

  10. You’re spot on Rich. There’s a reason why incompetents such as Lee Hammer and Jennifer Seelig ascend to management positions. They gladly do the bidding pf Cumulus and Audacy who don’t give a crap about radio. Those are 2 terrible radio companies. They’ve been allowed to swallow up hundreds of radio stations through deregulation and then downsize them and go with cheap, ‘eager beaver’ kids who will work for peanuts. Radio has gone into the toilet.

  11. It's not just KPIX, it's all CBS news stations. Even national read that statement out loud on Friday night's broadcast. Love the spin to hate on PIX even more!!!

  12. Imagine posting a tweet from “SF Conservative PATRIOT” and pretending it’s news, or analysis, or anything worthy of attention.

    1. It's not about who posted it, it's about what's posted. You can go back under the bed now.

  14. So they left Twitter in a virtue signal rage...then when nobody cared...they came back.

The old legacy media has no influence anymore.

    1. Pretty sure the only reason you hate virtue-signaling is because it involves “virtue,” with which you are wholly unfamiliar.

    2. CBS left Twitter because of "security concerns"...
      They returned 2 days later.
      What changed in 2 days?

    3. The only time CBS acts on a matter in 2 days...
Is when it's gonna cost them money.

CBS NEEDS Twitter, more than Twitter needs CBS.
      Pay the $8 CBS.

    4. @3:09 Virtue Signaling. Signaling. Displaying. It's a display. It's about gaining social status amongst your peers. Nothing to do with actual virtuosity. The only benefit is to yourself. In other words, it's largely a selfish act. The only value might be symbolic, at best.

In terms of a mass exodus from twitter by celebrities, they're full of shit. They'll continue to be on twitter because they are narcissists and they have a desperate need for attention.

  15. Twitter will fade away, much to the dismay of few.

    1. @5:05- In a way, yeah. Twitter became too toxic and people ruined the original intention or Twitter.

We'll see what happens. Twitter is a conglomerate just like Facebook. It's too big to go away forever. Even though I'm not a fan of Elon, I'm sure he will find a way to get Twitter back on track to where it was before the blue check mark issue and the other issues with Twitter the past few days.

  16. This proves once and for all CBS is run by idiots including Warren.

  17. I love Musk owning Twitter. Brings in new ideas and somebody without baggage to the organization. Twitter was, is, and will be a needed platform. Too bad Jack Dorsey and the rest of the founders lost their soul and became too scared to do anything.
