Sea of Paranoia at KTVU; Eikel (ND) and Nohr (HR) at Center of Storm; No-Faith and Then Some; Haener Confrontation Latest

KTVU: SEA OF PARANOIA

"They are destroying the essence of KTVU"

The "no-confidence" continues...staffers "disgust" is on high zone

Haener (Julie) confrontation latest hit on staff

The scene at KTVU is probably at its worst. Only marginally good ratings keeps the staff-management combo in place but it's a fragile peace. The place is a wreck. NOBODY and I do mean nobody, has any faith in the bosses, namely News boss, Amber Eikel, and most especially HR czar, Chris Nohr --really NO HR in many people's mind at Fox2

Mind you, we haven't even mentioned the Frank Somerville story, a story that sees Somerville GONE from KTVU any day now. It's 99-1 he's gone and now the story is FOX is deliberately making Frank twist in the wind. They (management) haven't contacted him (Frank) and are just waiting for the time to lower the boom as Somerville hides out in his Oakland condo.

LATEST: Eikel has LOST the Newsroom. Chris Nohr might as well be Nurse Ratched. Both are REVILED. And it's getting worse by the day.

*A KTVU source tells me: both Eikel and Nohr CONFRONTED an anchor (believed to be Julie Haener) and said she was "part of the gossip club."

  1. Were they wrong about the gossip club?

  2. Julie: Sue both of them for a hostile work environment. Alan Wang did at KGO. Worked for him.

  3. Rich, all Frank has to do is come to your blog and he now knows what he can expect going forward. The management can leave his firing up to you.

    1. Wrong @10:53am. Rich just reports what's happening. He's not employed by The Firm nor does he have any role in personnel or employee relations matters. He's just a guy with sources who shares information with those of us who don't.

  4. But seriously, who ISN'T gossiping at KTVU? Our crappy management just keeps giving us more material LOL! If they think confronting people is the answer I would liken it to taking an eye dropper to put out the Dixie Fire. Fox is insane to leave these clearly incompetent managers in charge. The ratings will continue to erode. This is the end of KTVU as we know it and really the beginning of the Fox era. They've been coasting on what Cox created here for the past few years. They've done nothing to keep it going. SAD.

  5. A classic case of hating the messenger while ignoring the message. Why is it so hard to fire Amber and bring in someone competent, respected, and who will unite the station instead of tearing it to shreds as Amber continues to do? It’s sad that Fox HQ will allow this once highly-respected brand to become the laughingstock of news and a cesspool of drama. Bring in someone who will lead with inspiration, motivation, by and putting people in positions to succeed, instead of running ktvu into the ground through command, control, and incompetence.

    1. Notice that when the person who made the station what it was, Fred Zehnder, was killed, the station barely mentioned it and did not repeat it the following day, as they do with every other story to stretch resources. Fred was dead and buried by the station as well as by the driver who hit and killed him. And I'm sure Amber, Chris and the others didn't like hearing that he and not they is the one respected.

  6. As someone who spent most of my career defending wrongfully terminated employees, when I think about this whole Amber situation and why she’s still employed as the ND, I can’t help but wonder if maybe it’s because she knows ‘where the bodies are buried’ at ktvu. She could very well have information about people and goings-on there that corporate wants to bury as deep underground as possible, even if it means continuing to give her an outrageous paycheck just to keep her happy enough.

    1. Eikel doesn't even know where her keys are. She is benefiting from being the furthest you can be from NYC and they eyes of her bosses. That's all.

    2. You don't "defend wrongfully terminated employees". Such aggrieved parties would be plaintiffs, not defendants in a wrongful termination civil case.

  7. Actually Chris Nohr is pretty hot
