Flash: George Rask is Retiring from KCBS Traffic Biz; Also Had Stint with KRON

George Rask, the traffic anchor with the raspy voice and ubiquitous pipes, has given notice to the KCBS high tops--he's LEAVING the all-news (740 AM, 106. 9 FM) radio outlet. Rask will be exiting within the next couple of weeks.

he's been a fixture at both KCBS and at KRON where he anchored the morning traffic reports for KRON's AM news shows.

There's no official reason as to why Rask is spliting now although recenly he was absent from the radio traffic desk to help deal with a family member's illness. That reason and Rask's own impending sunset years probably played into the decision to exit.
