Breaking: Bay Area TV News (Radio) Break from Programming to Cover Mass Casualty San Jose Shooting; Update 1: CNN: 8 Dead Plus Shooter; Update 2 White House Reacts

JUST the idea of the gravity of the situation in San Jose at the site of an apparent mass casualty shooting: Not only has Bay Area TV News stations broken into regular programming, but CNN and MSNBC too.

*Developing...

8: 54 AM, PT: KGO Radio, Nikki Medoro: "The shooter is dead, but there's an active shooter." Huh?

9: 06, KTVU News, Jesse Gary: Says authorities in San Jose know the ID of VTA shooter.

*Theatre of Absurd dept: Medoro has interview at 9 AM with Dem. political adviser, Christine Pelosi (daughter of Nancy Pelosi) DOES NOT ask for any thoughts on mass San Jose shooting. Pelosi made mention of shooting that Medoro IGNORED!)

Just plain wow.

*10: 49: CNN: 8 dead plus shooter.

12: 52: White House/President Biden react to news.

  1. Double Breaking News...

Nobody cares what anything named "Pelosi" thinks.
Pivot to more useless talk on gun control.
Thousands of guns are flowing into the bay area daily from outside the state. Good luck finding them all.

    1. House Speaker Pelosi could eat you for lunch and not even burp. She isn't a "thing", anymore than you are, or your mommy.

    2. "Anonymous" 10:39: Of course. You are an utterly useless and intellectually shallow, like all the rest of the Trump pole-smokers. You have nothing constructive to add to the conversation, and you're such a chicken shit you won't even use your name when you insult people that tower above you in status and importance. Nobody cares about your worthless insignificant life. Except, as 1:06 PM noted, your mommy.

    3. Thank the NRA for making it so any crackpot and crook can get a gun.

    4. Many more people in America agree with 10:39 then the sheeple at 1:06 and 2:12.

  2. When will we have a serious conversation about true gun reform in this country, and then act on it. I guess we just don't care enough about each other. Just another horrible act in America. Nothing to see here, just move along.

    1. The constitution tells you how to amend the second amendment. Have you never read it? What's the matter, do you lack energy to do lots and lots and lots of hard work convincing the majority of Americans to amend?

    2. 1:07 have you read it? It's not up for a vote of Americans. It requires either two-thirds majority vote in Congress or 2/3 of state legislatures to call for a consitutional convention. If it were done by convincing the majority of Americans, I strongly suspect reasonable gun control reform would pass.

  3. Texas is a step closer to allowing residents to carry handguns in public without obtaining a license or training. This should be interesting.

  4. Someone just pointed out on KGO radio this morning (by text) that in Texas it is easier to get a gun, than it is to vote.

    1. Yup...
You need a valid ID and have to pass a federal background check to buy a gun in Texas.
You also need a valid ID to vote in Texas.

Less voter fraud...and the crime rate is much lower.

    2. Once the new hand gun law in Texas becomes law, a federal background will only be applicable for some gun sales.

  5. KGO TV had a live shot of the Oakland Coliseum Arena up while they were waiting for their helicopter to get to San Jose (and they were reporting on the shooting). Waaaay to go . . .

  6. Usually predictable to find the politicians flocking to the scene, press, cameras and microphones providing them face and air time. Cindy Chavez, front and center.

  7. We are now to the point where there is no more information in these press conferences. its just everyone from Newson down the local Dog catcher getting their face on camera adding nothing. If I see Cindy Chavez again I'll scream. Get out of the way and let the investigators do their jobs.

  8. We had a president of the United States shot back in the early 80's and a group of young children also shot, but killed. We did nothing about either one of those two events, why would we do anything about it now??? 11:00 a.m. is correct, we just don't care enough about each other to do anything about gun reform.

  9. Carrying a loaded, unregistered and concealed weapon (hand gun) in CA is only a misdemeanor, and a simple "cite and release" in most situations.

If you are a "normal" citizen the cops will run you for local warrants, and run the gun to check only if it's stolen.

Unless you are a known felon, you won't be going to jail, and you(most likely) will be handed back your weapon with a small "admonishment" and a wink and a nod.

California cops KNOW the average citizen is now armed, and most cops fully understand why the "Average Joe" is carrying a loaded gun to work and the beach.

Let's see your local "media" do that story!

  10. Is the KPIX reporter, Betty Yu, okay after the on air scuffle at the top of last night's 11 pm newscast? Any scoop on the camera person as well?

    1. Ken & Liz mentioned later on in the program that police were on the scene and Betty and camera person were ok.

  11. Meanwhile over at KNTV it appears Janelle Wang's attempts at dislodging Jessica Aguirre are finally paying off. If I read the new June 7 TV schedule correctly, Wang gets an extra half hour at 5:30 and Aguirre loses a half hour at 6.
