Some Christmas Day 2020
Revelations...
*Dan Ashley is working this Christmas at 900 Front; KGO staff is pleased that Ashley has pledged to Circle7 mgt., he will not sing.
*Kevin Radich, working at KCBS on Christmas day, is outraged he has to do the sports reports off his home recliner and in his home kitchen.
*Mickey Luckoff acted really, really bad at his annual holiday parry telling one of the guests he couldn't listen to the Ronn Owens Report on his pocket radio. The guest was Ronn Owens himself.
*Greg Papa had to be physically restrained at SF General for repeatedly yelling, "Kris Kringle was a 4ers tight end!"
*Jerimiah Crowe. the KNBR PD, was seen at a friend's house introducing Adam Copeland as the new Byron Allen of Cumulus.
*Copeland was so thrilled at the distinction he left the party to play golf with Brian Murphy.
*Mark Willard is having a cool, thrilling Christmas Day party --all guests must wear a mask with pictures of Jessica Kleinschmidt attached on the mask.
*Members of the KCBS traffic dept. are having a post-holiday party hosted by Peter Schofield who reportedly told friends attending the affair, "if I catch you saying, 'tapping the breaks'', I'll kick your ass.'"
*Mark Thompson banned from Luckoff party; Thompson wanted to bring his own microphone and talk about himself.
*Jan Wahl heckled at Luckoff party by anonymous guest who shouted at Wahl: Nice pants, if they were white, we could show movies on 'em!"
*Stan Bunger given standing ovation at KCBS holiday soiree by KCBS rank and file for asking to work on Christmas because, as you know, Bunger hardly ever takes holidays off.
*Megan Goldsby at same holiday party, had to be tackled by staff for insisting she leave the party and go down to the studio and drop-kick Curtis Ki so she could anchor from 7-11.
*Larry Beil seen at ABC holiday get-together rushing up to NBC Bay Area anchor, Jessica Aguirre, and yelling, "I Made You!"
*KCBS "Phone Force" exposed as secret members of the Mike Pechner People Magazine's 2020 'Sexiest Celebrity Men.
*Diane Dwyer revelation to Bay Area media friends that she's producing new "Housewives of Walnut Creek" and that Mark Ibanez will be host.
*To induce weight gain, Luckoff denied reports he tried to humanly eat Jack Swanson.
Actually, the nonstop holiday music with no commercials or Nikki Medoro or Mark Thompson on KGO is delightful. One wonders if listeners would be better served if KGO changed its format to pre-recorded elevator music.
ReplyDeleteHow does one distinguish between "pre-recorded" and simply "recorded" music?
DeleteKim McAllister is in for Nikki this morning, and I think is better than Nikki. I agree with Rich Nikki's show has been a disappointment, I'm not quite as critical of her as Rich is, but she has not lived up to expectations.
DeleteNo absolutely not. Do agree with you about Nikki for the most part. Mark Thompson is not all that bad, he seems like a nice person not mean spirited like some right wing host. I like his interviews with David Cay Johnston, Carla Marinuchi (not sure how to spell her last name) and other media in the know persons. He is not the greatest, but fine for 2 hours. John Rothman is almost always interesting as is Pat, often when Chip is on I'm not close to a radio, but he too does some good interviews and has good comments. You can get pre recorded elevator music anywhere, what would be the purpose?
ReplyDeleteMean spirited like some right wing host? Have you ever listened to Chip Franklin? Pat Thurston? And how they treat others with differing opinions or politics? Oh boy.
Delete- MSNBC regularly has Cay Johnston on. But since Thompson left KRON decades ago, NBC won't touch him with a ten-foot pole.
Delete- Marinucci will appear on any Bay radio station that has news.
Have you ever listened to Mark Levin or Savage when they get callers from someone who disagrees with them? Savage at times have the patience to hear the caller out and engage in a dialogue, but not always. And Levin as soon as someone disagrees with him, he usually screams "Get off the phone yo big dope". Pat and Chip cuts people off who insist on lying or repeating conspiracy theories, but they don't call people names, and they will engage anyone who are reasonable, even if they disagree with them.
DeleteThere you again Rich being so negative, getting old. Also after promising not to dish suburban housewives, you are back at it. Guess you don't need donations from housewives.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and a happy and safe 2021.
It's been a tough year for many people. On January 1st at
Delete12:01am for the first time ever, hind sight will literally be 2020!
Diane Dwyer was a really good anchor/reporter that knew her business. I always thought she would be a principle anchor at one time
ReplyDeleteRL imagining a Dwyer-Ibanez reunion. Dwyer became who she was with actual stellar anchoring on KTVU's weekend 10:00 News.
DeleteDD is laughing while on her way to the bank. Smart (and pretty) woman.
DeleteI’m shedding no tears for Radich. A far better man than he worked today (Christmas Day): Steve Bitker. I wouldn’t mind if they showed Radich the door.
ReplyDeleteONLY KTVU...
ReplyDeleteTheir lead story at 10:00 tonight is about a surfer who died...on December 13th!
In case you didn't notice, today is December 25th.
They're going on and on about how "legendary" he was and how the whole community is devastated by the loss.
Then how come you're only reporting this NOW?!?
If you put a thousand monkeys at a thousand typewriters, they would eventually make all the editorial decisions KTVU suits make every night...
SMH...
The thing is there's really a lot of real news going on out there *today.* But you'd have to pay writers, editors, and reporters to actually cover it.
KTVU put minimal effort into its Friday night newscast. Too many prepackaged, uninteresting stories. And while I like Heather Holmes, having "Chanel" prominently displayed on the bookshelf behind her was about as classic Heather as you could get.
DeleteNo kidding on Heather's "arranged" bookcase. Obviously, trying to impress us. I have no say however, that Heather's wardrobe is as far from Channel as you could possibly get. Maybe she wears the parfume, in which case, big whooop!
DeleteHeather Holmes needs no perfume, she could spray like a skunk and I would still melt.
DeleteRich Lieberman wasted 10 minutes of Christmas day whining about the same people he always whines about.
ReplyDeleteLike I said in an earlier post, it is getting old. I'm the first to praise Rich when he writes a good post, but lately he has been very negative, even jumping on Rothmann for spending 1 (ONE) hour talking about food right before Christmas, even though KGO has always had an hour here and there talking about food or wine when we are getting close to a holiday. On top of that he again insulted suburban housewives, which he had promised not to do, since I pointed out I don't feel like donating my hard earned money to someone who insults me. I guess gets enough donations now and don't need mine. I will donate to the food bank instead.
DeleteMy guess is that Lieberman wants everyone fired ("you heard it here first") so he can have new people to hate, then later praise, then hate again.
DeleteLiebermann appears to be jealous of the vibe in Walnut Creek, swimming pools, shorts, and the backyard barbecue.
DeleteDiane Dwyer? Is she still on TV? Jan Wahl? Is she still on TV? TV? Are people still watching it? I have not 'watched' local TV is well over 5 years. Sure, I get some of its news off the internet via Google News but for the most part it is irrelevant to me... as evident by you pointing out the KTVU lead story. Old and unimportant.

DeleteI hope Wahl's pants weren't Bullwinkle brown and white.
