415 Media Exclusive: Former Circle7 News Vet Anchor, Eric Thomas, To Join KCBS

KGO-TV shuffles anchors; Cheryl Jennings, Kristen Sze, Eric Thomas involved in moves – The Mercury News

Eric Thomas, the former, KGO-TV veteran anchor/reporter, is about to venture into the radio world, I've learned through a local broadcast source.

So much for retirement.

Thomas, who spent three decades at Circle7, will be joining KCBS as an anchor and reporter in the field.

Thomas is set to begin his duties at KCBS in mid-January.

Thomas was a KGO mainstay through much of the 90's and 2000's, anchoring on weekends and reporting during the week. His easy-going manner with both co-workers and viewers was a hit.

Later in his career at Circle7, he was hellbent on getting a buyout offer from Disney/ABC and he eventually did.

Thomas' relaxed style and news acumen should be a win-win for both him and KCBS.

  2. KCBS and KPIX 5 is about the same, he should replace Reporter Depression on the evening news adding on too much stress for the current 3 main anchors.

  4. It's too bad he can't enjoy retirement and just travel and stuff like I do. I still get paid every month too.
