On Friday, Susan Leigh Taylor will officially retire and now the speculation begins: who will replace her on morning drive on KCBS? My hunch is Holly Quan. I'm not a fan of dull Quan but she'd been there forever and knows the drill. Plus, she has the nod of partner, Stan Bunger, if that counts anymore. I guess it does.
*Oakland mayor Libby Schaff's house was vandalized (graffiti) early Tuesday morning; in addition to her garage door being spray-painted, several rounds of fireworks were set off--you know the story.
How 'bout this? Later Tuesday, some idiot out-of-town news anchor on KSFO gave out Schaff's address in the Oakland hills! I'm not a Schaff fan (I live in Oakland) but giving out her street name is a brutal move. That idiot reporter needs a talk.

ReplyDeleteSome heat here in Sacramento, about where Gavin lives (ultra-expensive El Dorado Hills gated community) and his kids go to private (i.e., ultra-expensive in-class schools), so the rabble-rousers are trying to drum up support for a march UP the hill to his home. My question: WHO is PAYING for house, and schools?? Taxpayers? or ultra-richie-rich Goober Gavin?

Anyway - back to Holly Quan....I think she'd make a good co-anchor - but, she's received awards for her field work, and I'm not sure KCBS would want to sacrifice that "talent" to bring her in - and, it seems that she enjoys being "on the scene" in almost any situation. We'll see.

ReplyDeleteListened to KCBS for 50 years, excellent in those days from Nam protests, UC Berkeley protests, SF State protests and America as a whole, smart reporters, non bias truthful reportings and excellent researched documentaries...nowadays.....very poor...just to get by the day...noticed how traffic reports sucks?? Got stuck on HWY 205, 120 and 99 because they won't report that far, in the old days they do and we know how to get around problems...sad.........
