Breaking: Patience and Professionalism Waning at PIX

RICH LIEBERMAN 415 MEDIA: Desperate Times at KPIX5; Dunn Beginning ...

IT'S NOT ENOYGH THEY'RE STRUGGLING WITHIN ..with an MIA lead anchor who survived (apparently) the Coronavirus; it's bad enough their News Director has built up a wall of favorites and non-favorites; it's horrid enough that there is basically NO COMMUNICATION between staff and suits; NOW, it's gotten to the point they DON'T TRUST EACH OTHER! Even close friends!

KPIX is a mess.

When this happens, the boss, Mark Neerman, is supposed to rally the troops. But the Idiotic and inane ND, DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE! And the staffers are ROYALLY PISSED OFF!

Patience and professionalism WANING at PIX

  1. KPIX management may be in turmoil, but out in the field Saturday night, Da Lin was doing a great job covering the looting in Emeryville.
Da was not sugar coating the "protesters", but was instead calling out loudly the reality of them being purely looters with no political side to even slightly cover their crimes.
Over and over Da Lin declared the massive organized looting of Best Buy and others as like Black Friday... Used that phrase several times to describe the crowds of 'youths' rushing through the doors and running out with huge big screen TV's, laptops, and phones to awaiting SUV's.
Described them correctly as "scattering like cockroaches"...
Did so each time the station returned to his excellent riveting reporting.
Great job and best of all he didn't fall prey to locking his language up in politically correct blather.
"scattering like cockroaches" as police began to show up.

WE need more reporting that isn't trying to turn thugs and thieves into "outraged protesters"
Da showed us the only motive of these mobs was looting, looting , looting... Not a out of control mob, but organized gangs of looters.
After years of Oakland/Emeryville treating out of control protests like a political problem, it has now roared completely out of control.
Mobs..of protesters have turned into looters because they no longer have any fear of being arrested in Oakland. Thank you Ms Mayor Libby.
From side shows, to endless encampments, to blatant looting, Mayor Libby's administration has completely lost control of the city by her soft hand, 'excuses for everybody', approach to law and order.
There is no order in Oakland. Despite a massive city payroll, they can't even retain order or safety.

Thank you Da Lin for pointing it out with such stark reporting.

    1. Good to hear something positive about Da. Re: Mayor Libby
-- a total zero. Pretty bad when folks wish that Jean Quan
      was back.

    2. @12:45 pm: You hit the nail on the head!! And so did Da! My sentiments exactly! I've always like Da Lin (don't know why Rich doesn't) and I thought he was great Sunday night! He obviously held a few comments back considering his outrage at the mayhem, but I'm glad he stated it the way he did, not like many of the anchors & reporters who seem too scared to do so. I know they're supposed to be neutral in their reporting but, come on! Quit sugar-coating it!

  2. Their new weather guy, Paul Heggen, sounds like he has chronically plugged sinuses.
