  1. Len Ramirez was hit by a projectile, on live TV. He seems to be OK, and he's powering through the situation while continuing with his live reports.

  2. Watching the situation in San Jose on ALL channels. A few comments: Catherine Heenan is solid as a rock on KRON, as always. Len Ramirez doing yeoman work on the ground for KPIX.
A few negatives: Juliet Goodrich on KPIX claiming that during
the freeway blockage, some of the cars being blocked were leaning on their horns in support of the protesters. Really,
Juliet? How would you know that? Are you in those cars? My
take was that it was a number of upset motorists who trying to get home before rush hour escalated. Also, Kristin Sze talking about the CNN reporter who was "completely peaceful" and was arrested by the Minneapolis police. She also added that the reporter was Latino. Really, Kristin? You know nothing about the
exchange between the cops and the reporter. You have no idea what was said. Was he asked to disperse, but did not? We don't
know. Report the facts. Also, why the mention of the reporter's
race? We saw what four bad apples in the Minneapolis PD did
to George Floyd. Are you hinting that ALL the cops in Minneapolis are racist? You're supposed to be a pro, Kristin.
    Very amateur work this evening.

  3. Keep to media coverage, ok. The guy that was waving the big Mexico flag in San Jose on KNTV, isn't that protest appropriation?

  4. These are riots, not protests. I'm sure the beyond worthless mayors of Oakland and San Jose and everywhere in between have told their police departments to more or less let people do whatever the fuck they want.

    1. You're not only 100% right but the politicians themselves are the people responsible for the societal problems. Their stupid laws and policies under serve the citizens and police alike and they just sit back and watch the daily messes unfold, never being held accountable.

TV news, with perhaps PBS being the exception, is complicit by stoking the fire. Talk radio and independent internet news are the media forms that tackle real societal problems.

    2. But people like Pat Thurston and Charles Franklin said liberal policies were great. And Christine here in the blog some posts ago echoed her liberal leanings. Surely I should believe those beacons of the airwaves?

    3. It is possible to be a liberal and support peaceful protests, and not be for the rioting, looting and stealing, don't know anyone that supports that. My guess is many that riot are not very political, they are just out to destroy and cause mayhem.

    4. Supporting protests does nothing productive other than recognize how the deck is stacked against many black Americans. They don't need your sympathy or their tummies rubbed, they need an opportunity and some optimism that they won't get stuck hanging around the same dead end street corner their entire life.Sympathy or a stolen pair of sneakers won't help them sleep comfortably at night.

Consider if you will that the US spends 100 billion a year, year after year, to accommodate the illegals. Take that money away from them and INVEST it in good schools and job programs that benefit the black communities and you'll see it pay huge dividends in a generation or two.

  5. It was amusing to listen to the tv anchors justifying the breaking of windows, looting and starting fires. I could hear their backs breaking with all the bending over backwards to justify it all. One said that the building caught on fire. No, it was set on fire.

  6. I will watch only when the military steps in and clear out the trash.
