Kenny Choi hasn't left the
KPIX building in the morning, he's just been out more in the field as a reporter, a PIX spy tells me.
Choi, the morning guy from Hawaii, has always wanted to be out on the street (as most real TV News journalists do)---his current gig as PIX anchor will become more as a hybrid, emphasis on hybrid because anchor-only is off his pie chart.
Many of you wanted to know and I will deliver.
He's no Ron Burgundy. No,no stereotype anchorman is Kenny. No anchorman hair or voice, nor the porn star mustache all them anchors had in the day. Progressive.
ReplyDeleteWho gives a fuck about Kenny Choi? Never heard of him. What about KCBS? Sports on the 15s? Who is running this ship? Hint: there is NO sports. Why are they wasting news time on this shit? And traffic on the eights. Oh, Christ, there's a pot hole in the bicycle lane! Who ever is leading this tone-deaf radio station should be quarantined.
ReplyDeleteThey have sports and traffic updates so the main anchors can take a break from their perpetual vomiting live.
DeleteMaybe they have sports, traffic and weather because those segments are sold discretely to advertisers (or their agencies). The advertiser has bought the time slots adjacent to those segments, and eliminating the segment breaks the deal. Ever think about that?
DeleteIn these times, Choi is a top headline, Rich.? Never watch KPIX and don't know him. Something more relevant, please.
ReplyDeleteWho?
ReplyDeleteGood point, why is KCBS running so many traffic updates? Sports is being anchored by three people when two is sufficient when there are no sports to report on. It's unfortunate KCBS has no competition they can get away with such poor content
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Michelle may have a hand in this move.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've been told from people I know at PIX, he's a pretty sharp dude...and great to work with. As a former photog, that's all that you could ask for when working with someone. As far as his anchoring, I don't have a problem with him. I actually think he's pretty solid. BUt then again, I've never been "wowed" by any anchor enough to make me want to tune in. I've been moved to NOT want to watch certain anchors--but to ONLY want to watch because of an anchor? Never.
ReplyDeleteI watch PIX, and am always curious about any extended absence from an on-air situation. Rich comes through, again!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. I wondered what happened to Kenny. He’s solid as a news reporter. Take it from who used to be one. I enjoyed him as a morning anchor despite your review.
