'Why I Do This?' It All Began with Angie Dickinson

415 Media inspiration: Angie Dickinson

'WHY DO YOU DO THIS?'--I get that question from time to time and it's simple: I was motivated mightily by my unrelenting love for Angie Dickinson, whom I dated in my late 20's and early 30's. I met Angie at a hot dog stand on Sunset Blvd. I had a big dog and she was interested --mostly because I kept a low profile and didn't bother her. She was impressed with my disposition and because of my looks and spirit, opened up a conversation about nothing really.

I could have blared on and on about her trials with Sinatra, Carson, Burt (Reynolds) but I held back because I respected her and admired her tenacity and spirit. She gave me a napkin --quietly --told me to jot down her secret number. I had no pen and had to use the mustard packet I gathered with my big dog. Angie had amazing eyes. And yes, what a bod! She was all the glamour and then some. Which Is how I began doing this, the 415 Media blog and how Angie said to me to keep up my passion and do what I love.

Angie was always and still is my inspiration. I didn't want to get in her way anymore even as a secret generational guy so I moved forward and continued my passion. To this day I still love her. But it was time to move on and write about what you love I write about. My commitment never ends. And I think about Angie every day in case you ask. Yes, a BIG Ba Da Bing.

See ya later.

  7. Since you have such deep-seated hostility for white women, maybe some Filipino bride would take you.

  8. Angie at 88 is an amazing activist in the fight against Alzheimer's. Hard to believe that her only child that she had with songwriter/composer Burt Bacharach took her own life at age 42 in 2007. Very held in respect not just by the Rat Pack & Reynolds, but also The Duke and Bob Hope, among others (love the irony that Ms. Dickinson worked at the Burbank Airport now named after Hope).
