YOU KNOW HOW I FEELABOUT BIG-TIME, UNDERRATED NBC BAY AREA Weekend anchor, Terry McSweeney . He's better then above-average, he's damn good, a network-like anchor who has a crisp delivery, solid pace and knows how to conduct a newscast.
CNN wanted him too and loved him enough to go all out for his services but McSweeney likes the Bay Area and took a waiver, for now at least.
HERE'S ANOTHER TAKE TOO: I'm convinced KNTV down in San Jose is wasting McSweeney's talent on the weekend and place him somewhere on the weeknight, he's that good. But they insist on using inferior talent which is a key mistake and totally ridiculous, another value factor they take for granted.
One day they'll learn.
*The Real Skinny on Tom Tolbert radio color analyst gig: All along the KNBR PM yapper wanted to do the color commentary on Warriors' radio broadcasts and the Dubs were all aboard, one problem: the Warriors wanted Tolbert for the entire season; Tolbert balked and said he only wanted to do home games, I'm sure for family reasons. A stalemate ensued and nothing was happening.
The Warriors finally relented and Tolbert got his wish: he'd do home games; Jim Barnett would do the road. Tolbert leaned heavily on his friend and Dub's coach, Steve Kerr, who quietly but forcefully talked the Warriors broadcast hierarchy into action. The rest is history.
Hopefully Tom's new friends Rod and Larry can join him calling the games. It'll be three times the fun!

And there was one particular PA at Ch 7 who liked him too...a lot.
CNN is career suicide. There are plenty of folks trying to get OUT of CNN due to the shitty ratings. Those still employed by CNN find very limited options since they have become a partisan operation with terrible ratings.
