415 Media Breaking: Traffic Talker Raines OUT at KCBS

Image result for Cheryl Raines KCBS RAINES OUT

Veteran Afternoon (3- 7PM) KCBS Traffic anchor, Sheryl Raines was given a mighty heave-ho by Entercom traffic MGR, Don Bastida.

The two have been feuding for an extended time, a source told me who has knowledge of what was taking place.

The irony here is that it was Bastida and KCBS suits that fought hard for Raines job when Entercom wanted her gone from the budget not so long ago.

Raines apparently thought she was safe. Like almost everyone else in the broadcast biz, she was expendable.

I'm told KCBS will replace her with another woman; the thought of another man doing traffic is not on the to-do list.

  3. I thought she did a good job. Too bad the two parties weren't able to reach a common-sense compromise.

  4. Two other KCBS personalities have been far from management friendly. Yet unlike Raines, Corral & Culross have found a way to stay on. Guess the latter two never assume anything at the station.

  7. Bay Area radio is a joke. Look at KGO as a prime example. What an embarrassment. You find anybody good at KGO Rich? A & G are fine by me. Authentic. Oh Yeah, Savage mails it in and is a joke. Everything Bay Area is a joke these days. Why don't you go fling poop at Zuckerburghs house. SF deserves the filth they live in. Hi Nancy & Di, You do great things from your home town.

  8. Standard operating procedure when Entercom takes over a station. Sheryl is just the first of many.

  9. Sheryl is a gem, loved by her audience. Don fucked up.

KCBS still cranks out tremendous reporting for its format and resources, a miracle given the clueless management.
