Bury It

Image result for casket at funeral I WASN'T THERE --haven't heard much but I'm willing to bet Ronn Owens' fake remarks on Saturday at the Ray Taliaferro memorial service was more grating then a double root canal, so yes, BURY IT.

*Kenny Wardell, the sometimes PR guy and publicist for various TV and radio stations used to be a cool, warm presence. Now? More annoying then a Jan Wahl movie review, so yeah, BURY IT.

*The on-going abysmal habit of people being interviewed on radio and TV starting their response with …"So..." has reached the national screen: On Sunday's "Meet The Press", some legal guy from NBC uttered "so.." about every other sentence: BURY IT!

*KCBS yentas, Megan Goldsby and Carrie Houdesak--the latter with the worst voice in Bay Area media wouldn't be that awful if by chance they weren't on the air every other minute or so it appears. BURY IT!

*There's a group of lower-level staffers and interns at KTVU who read me and gossip out shit about anchors sleeping with women that are not their wife; OK, fine, send me pictures and/or texts to prove it and I'll go from there--otherwise, yes, BURY IT!

*The whack job that killed that young Davis cop deserves a supreme amount of investigative reporting, like, what were his motives (if any); was the three-car accident which was the scene of the crime; was their a connection? Did the shooter have some connection to the young woman police officer whom he shot close range several times. I want to know. You want to know. It's a tragedy, for sure, but there's a bigger picture here. Stop the BS and ask a few questions.

*KPIX and their revolving weather anchors in the morning --KCBS too. BURY IT!

*The "Ronn Owens Report", the most obnoxious, wasted 8 minutes or so of virtual DEAD AIR and a further embarrassment to the mattress man and his waning radio station: BURY IT!

*Every on-air person at KFOG or what's left of it: Talk about irrelevance --yes, please oh please, BURY IT!

*KQED Radio and TV; the most ridiculous, inane, insane, useless, boring content provider of all PBS and NPR affiliates: KQED was last cool about the time Jimmy Carter was elected president in 1976.

*Michael Krasny's "Forum" show on radio; Krasny's interviews are about as compelling as a Emeryville strip mall. Just BURY IT!

*Mickey Luckoff used to be a bullying, mean-spirited asshole VP at KGO with all the warmth of a pit bull with its tail cut off...now Luckoff in his later years is the same venomous jerk without an office or title. He and Lowenstein deserve each other; their association now is just plain vomit material that oozes fake gratitude: BURY IT!

*KRON and its continuing embarrassment every day on Bay Area TV screens under this owner, that owner, whatever, it doesn't matter because after 2002, KRON became a house of ill repute: BURY IT!

*The Sunday Chronicle has become the Tuesday Chronicle: thinner and thinner --time to BURY IT!

*BOTH All-Sports radio stations here in this market are embarrassments --a literal waste of time and energy --dumb and dumber with hosts who have the mental fortitude of day-old oatmeal. BURY, BURY, hurry please.

*Pledge breaks on 415 Media: BURY IT! Guess what? I have, for the most part. Haven't had one in the new year and if you'd become a paid subscriber, a total end to requests. So do the good thing and hit my Pay Pal icon.

*The Peterson Dean guy: JUST BURY IT.

*Chef Ryan Scott: he hangs out with Owens, a sort of professional beard so from day one, yeah, we should have BURIED IT!

  1. The whack job illegal immigrant that killed Officer Singh in Newman and was harbored by other illegals before he was finally caught. Deported multiple times, arrested multiple times but ICE was unable to report him due to Democrat politics.

    1. I'm not a pro-Trump whack job but I agree that known bad apples and repeat offenders, along with other illegals who harbor them, need to be deported and tracked (there are certainly ways to do this) so they don't make it back into the U.S.

I do not agree with either the bleeding heart liberals who want to prevent ICE from doing its job, or the methods ICE uses. Both sides need to come up with a workable solution. A wall is not the answer. Most of the drugs and sub-humans make it through at government border crossings, not out in the middle of nowhere. A wall, which is a primitive tactic, would be both a huge waste of money and ineffective.

    2. "ICE was unable to "report" him , due to Democrat politics"? What the hell are you talking about. ICE can deport without the state's permission, or partisan permission. Where did you learn otherwise? As for the young Hispanic woman officer gunned down in Davis, the killer's name is Limbaugh. He did not know her. He was a right wing whack job who believed the Davis cops were blasting him with secret rays...

    3. Watch the press conference where they announced that they had caught Officer Singh's killer. The sheriff had quite alot to say about the way Dems handcuff law enforcement. All in the name of power.

  3. Hi Rich: Last night I saw edited Highlights of Ray's Memorial Service on the 10 pm KRON 4 Newscast & the 11 pm KGO 7 Newscast. KRON 4 with GA Reporter Philippe Djegal (who was actually there) did a good job of reporting. KGO 7 surprisingly had a short News Clip(No on-site News Reporter) first showing the 2 Phony, Miserable SOB's Ron Owens & Mickey Luckoff pontificating about Ray. But then I saw Rosie Allen talking-Real & Heartfelt. Great to see Rosie--I miss her on KGO Radio. Rich-I Love all Your Blog Posts. Keep up the Great Work! Cary SF

  4. I had the same thoughts about the shooting of the Davis cop. The only reason I can think of for the complete news silence and lack of curiosity is that the shooter is in this country illegally.

    4. Yes, but Gustavo Perez Arriaga was here illegally. Multiple times. He's the one that shot the Newman copy and was arrested on his way back to Mexico.

Also... Adrian Virgen, Erik Razo Quiroz, Bernabe Madrigal Castaneda, Ermasmo Villegas, Maria Luisa Moreno, Ana Leyde Cervantes, and Conrado Virgen Mendoza, most of whom were here illegally, were all arrested in connection to this case.

7 people helped him allude police and get back to Mexico.

Where was the media coverage of their arrests?

    5. I read about their arrests. You must have also since you have their names.

    6. 5:05 PM - I read plenty about it, stop with your made-up nonsense...

    7. 5:05, agreed. There is a narrative they want us all to believe out there. Facts get in the way of that narrative. Dems are dangerous, especially when they're trying to hold on to power.

  5. KQED is, I believe, the wealthiest PBS/NPR affiliate in the nation, yet they produce next to nothing with the money they rake in from their obnoxious pledge drives. People, stop falling for this con job!

KRON has assumed the role of the Bay Area's sole independent station that offers news. As someone posted in another discussion, it's kind of refreshing even if it's a shitshow. The unbiased independent used to be KTVU until they hooked up with Fox, which has tainted their newscasts even if only by association and not content.

Finally, EVERY sports radio station is an embarrassment for exactly the reasons Rich has mentioned. As are sports reports on every TV newscast.

    1. KQED is wealthy for the same reason all Democratic politicians who aspire to higher office come here with their hand out. There is **so** much money in the hands of those who either didn't earn it or to whom it came too easily. The chairman of the Santa Clarita Democratic party was a well seasoned political hand from back east and she said the national tolerates what goes on here for that specific reason. No, it will likely never change. Those who get sick of it will cash out their houses and leave. End of story.

  6. Good job today Richie I'd love to BURY IT in HH.

  7. KQED produces local radio news seven days a week, local TV programming like Newsroom and Check Please, and huge amounts of online news and podcasts. A large amount of its state and local news, particularly science coverage, airs nationally on NPR every week. And it is the #1 highest rated radio station in the Bay Area with a larger audience than KCBS, KGO or any other station. More than 1 million people a week listen, and the reason it has so much money is because the public supports the high quality local and state news, kids programming and other content it produces, and willingly sends money and membership renewals. Some folks may not like it, but those are the facts.

    1. Newsroom and Check Please hardly cost anything to produce. We see quality productions from other PBS affiliates across the nation, and all KQED has to offer is Check Please? Yeah, please alright.

I listen to KALW as often as I can, although not all of their programming interests me. At least they're not begging for money to line their pockets like KQED is.

  8. But, hey. We've got KCBS running sports every fricking 30 minutes at 15 and 45 mixing in replays of sports events from around the world. Don't just bury it, KILL IT!! And dump infinity marble mouth Bitker!

    2. Agreed! Get rid of the inane sports every 30 minutes. More national and international news. And why is there traffic every 10 minutes overnight on the weekends? I mean, come on. KCBS ain't what it used to be. The spots? "My number two...". I mean, come on.
And the Sports Leader? Zero broadcasting of the NFL playoffs. Sports Leader my ass.

  9. * Benny Fong: the author of that radio industry shrill piece that appears every so often in the Chronicle Datebook. Take his overuse of the "I" pronoun and that farce of a column of his and BURY IT!
    * Take most of the local newscasts -- except for Dan Ashley on ABC7 -- and BURY IT!
    * The ABC7 weekday morning newscasts. Maybe they need to substitute puppets to do the news instead. More credibility. Otherwise, BURY IT!
    * The KCBS Sportsline: big fat hairy deal. Same old shit every half hour, so it seems. BURY IT!

The dribble on TV makes one yearn for watching old TV shows on youtube. Nice post.
