A Disturbing State of Flux at Bay Area TV News Stations; Winston: 'I'm the Biggest Personality at KRON'; Anny Hong Feud Still There; Thursday Coffee

Image result for State of flux I'VE NEVER Seen a Bay Area media situation in such a State of Flux. Even at the most tranquil outlets there's quite a bit of mental overload. Paranoia, anxiety, uncertainty, management-labor mistrust, you name it the overall negativity and fright is definitely there.

KTVU has top ratings and social media prominence --you would think there would be relative peace and happiness in Oakland but the scene booth internally and externally is quite the opposite. A new News Director has conspicuously failed to have an "air-out" meeting with staff; not that she had to but truth be told, given FOX's less-than-stellar treatment of its personnel; its still rocky labor practices; the ongoing battle with union photographers; the internal slash of high-paid anchors and reporters; life at 2 Jack London Square isn't exactly a day at the beach and doesn't figure to get better anytime soon. And you thought being #1 was all fine and dandy. Not the case at Channel 2.

KPIX is a sea of ineptitude and indecision --and that's putting it mildly. Nobody has any idea of what's going on which is the normal case at Battery and Broadway. The coffee inside the break room is still great though...KGO-TV used to be relatively sanguine and cool but the pain-in-the-ass ND who has NO people skills and a staff that mostly can't stand her makes it difficult to carry on business. PLUS, the news reporters (and others) are real pissed off that veteran reporters are leaving and being poached over at KNTV by an aggressive "Steph" who has been pilfering 900 Front left and right. Morale has never been lower at Circle 7. Morning show incompetency and questionable policies by the managers has been met with universal scorn. The biggest complaint? The absurd practice of the women weather forecasters having to wear high heels when they're on-air! Yeah, that'll do wonders for atmospheric happiness.

KRON: Does anybody care? Move on. The Morning News behind the scenes are apparently ludicrous. An eyewitness says it's CRAZY even by the TV albatross standards.

Image result for robin winston kron-tvOh, a KRON side show: Traffic diva, Robin Winston tells her friends "I'm the biggest personality here {KRON)" How do I know? One of her "friends" passed on the word. Maybe then, Robin, you'd quit sending me anonymous comments and fess up you love being on this site.

RTruthiness does wonders.

Speaking of such, Winston and Anny Hong are still NOT SPEAKING. She (Hong) can't stand her (Winston) and the two might as well be paired up for Female MMA action.

State of Fluxiness in radio too:

K-101 DJ thinks he owns the place.

KSFO: a producer out of control with temperament issues.

*Ethan BEAR!-Man at KGO: everyone hates him except the janitor. In fact, Ronnnnnnnnnn is DISGUSTED that his show is NOT repeated at night while The BEAR-MAN! is all over the place.

*Hey, KGO-TV guy, if you're going to rip me about editorial content, then be more forward and not little stupid texts that you think are "feedback." Feedback, my ass.

*Paulie Mac and Gary Radnich: Hey, Gar? He still talks shit behind your back even though you made his career ...maybe time to take fender off the Bentley and shove it somewhere.

  1. I'd tune in to some KRON if Robin and Anny would kiss and make up, then do it again. And then again.

  5. It is easy to understand why everyone at KGO hates Ethan Bearman.
Bearman is a first class back stabber.

    1. I know the King. Da Lin isn't the King. The King is tall. Very, very tall. And the King is from Denmark.

    1. If they laid themselves off PIX would save a lot of money and no one would notice the difference.

  10. This sort of reminds me of 1st class passengers on the Titanic fighting over who's the richest/most famous as they stand by the rail and watch the water rise higher and higher.

  12. The tone everybody take regarding Winston and Hong and their apparent distaste for each other is gross. Somebody slighted the other at some point and caused a fight and bad management (and general lack of concern about morale and decorum) have allowed it to go on for far too long. I'm sure both have their faults but the whole place seems to operate like a South American soap opera. And I'm confident that whatever ego Winston does possess still doesn't compare to what Darya's packing.

  14. Rich: Might as well cue some YouTube and a classic Soul Train moment from 1972 when the late Don Cornelius met Eddie Levert and his O'Jays after lip-crooned Back Stabbers. Must be a lot of literal backstabbers on the airwaves (although hopefully the KGO-TV backstabbing stopped for a few hours while the Warriors began their NBA Finals Trilogy strong against the Champ Cavaliers.)

    2. She never performed in Ohio and Iowa. We knew that a year ago. Then she failed to carry not only Ohio and Florida but Pennsylvania which is a death sentence in Electoral politics. These races are called when the polls close in Chicago. Period!

She was never going to win that race and I knew it before the primaries. Winners have momentum and have a certain profile. If you are the Democratic stand bearer and can't win Michigan in a walk, you're probably the wrong candidate. That's Political Science undergrad stuff. If you're supposed to be the heir apparent and can't beat the guy with the Einstein hair, you're just dead.
